Come explore the storytelling fantasy world of opera. Youth ages 8–15 will engage themselves in singing, acting, staging, costuming, and make–up for the outdoor opera stage. The week will culminate in three performances of The Bremen Town Musicians.

Pretend and creative play have been shown to help children develop empathy, cope with their feelings, and improve language skills. Assemble a miniature garden, and get lost in an imaginary world of wonder in this workshop. Class fee includes all necessary supplies; however, participants are encouraged to bring a few trinkets to personalize their fairy garden.

You’ve seen us up on the band shell stage at McKennan Park. Now it’s your turn to come on up and be in the show! Join some of your favorite Storyland cast members for a week of theatre games, improvisational exercises, silly songs, and rehearsal. Come backstage and help us create the magic of children’s theatre by creating props, costumes, and characters that will all showcase your talent in a final performance in the park.

GLOBAL THEATER—BEGINNING ACTING CAMP AGES 9–11

Our favorite children’s books come to life with acting, song, and dance at Page to Stage 2018! Camp participants will create original musicals based on several of your child’s favorite books and possibly some new ones. In addition to a live performance of acting, singing, and dancing on the final evening, theatre fundamentals, improvisation, original scene writing, and theatre games will be explored. Youth entering Grades 3–5.

OUTDOOR ADVENTURES FAMILY PARK AND GREAT BEAR RECREATION PARK | #140088

Studies have shown that the average American youth spends as few as 30 minutes in unstructured outdoor play each day, and more than seven hours each day in front of an electronic screen. Come battle this statistic while participating in adventurous outdoor activities. Fish at Family Park, discover outdoor safety skills, explore hiking trails, and learn archery skills from The Outdoor Campus instructors during this exciting camp. Participants are required to wear sturdy close–toed shoes and bring a full water bottle each day. Intended for ages 7–11.

If you are looking for a unique way to display your favorite photo of you and your friends, this class is just for you. Using a piece of glass and lots of beads, we will decorate around a picture to make it dazzling. Please bring 1–3 photos along to class. We will provide the rest of the materials.

JEWELED GLASS PICTURE FRAME

Cell phones can be very useful in helping you find your way if you are lost, but would you know how to navigate without one? The ability to use a map and compass can be extremely helpful if you find yourself in unfamiliar surroundings. After an introductory lesson to basic map reading skills and compass use, participants will test their skills on a preset self–guided orienteering course using nothing but a map and compass to find their way. Recommended for ages 7+. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

SOCCER SKILLS CAMP KUEHN PARK | #170072

Get your little ones ready for the fall season with this introductory soccer camp. We will work on dribbling, passing, spacing, and shooting. We will end each day with different games to develop individual skills as well as build teamwork on the field. Shin guards required.
