BALENCIAGA X NIKE

MEZCLA Combining high fashion with sportswear was the aim of Studio. Through in-depth research, key values of both, Balenciaga and Nike, have been developed and merged into on e brand: MEZCLA. Moving from team to individual work, a brand identity has been formed and a seasonless collection for 2017 has been developed. Merging „new classic“ elements from Balenciaga with dynamic influences of Nike, „Mezcla“, Spanish for mixture, creates new and unique silhouettes. The main focus of „mezcla“ lies on Balenciaga and their focus on the architecture and construction of garments and the combination of the new and old. Today’s generation is experiencing an overflow of opportunities and offers. Also called the generation ‚maybe’, they are being blinded by the illusion of certain beauty and lifestyle standards and therefore get lost on their way of finding their own purpose in life. „Mezcla“ includes this ‚illusion‘ as an important element of their concept. Through that, the brand wants to raise more awareness to this problematic state of things. In contrast to the Illusion, „Mezcla’s“ mision is to bring back the focus to the here and now, to reality, real beauty and lifestyle ideals. The designs visualize a movement of going ‚back to the basics‘ and show that life is not about perfection and trying to pursuit that. The combination of all the brand ingredients leads to minimalistic but thrilling designs. „Mezcla“ creates garments that are wearable, honest and real.

Personal Project

2016 / 17

SUR_FACE This project gave the opportunity to analyze and investigate in a project of perosonal interest. My aim for this personal project was to create new materials with interesting structures and textures. These should lead to an unusal and new pattern. WEAVE - displays different weaving techniques. Using mixed material and switching from structured to unstructured techniques results in interesting and new structures. IRREGULAR - melted wax on plain woven fabric. Multiple layers create depth and mountain-like shapes. Different colours and materials seem to merge into each other to become one. WAVES - voluminous and flowing shapes, created through deformation of the materials.

Repeated Prints and Patterns

PRINT IT! Repeated prints inspired by BALENCIAGA and Nike. They are suited for silk screen printing with one colour, therefore they were developed in black and white. Combining both the key values of BALENCIAGA and NIKE, round, organic and geometrical shapes merge into one.
