WELCOME TO THE AUTUMN EDITION OF
tweentown Autumn is one of our favourite times of year. It is the time of year where the seasons' change and nature shows of the most beautiful colours. Many people know that Tweens are some of the hardest customers to please when it comes to travelling, because they're at an age where a playground and building sandcastles aren't quite enough. So this time in Tweentown we have found some of our favourite spots to visit in Copenhagen with tweens and teens. Different places and spaces that would make your visit to our fabulous capital even better. We also have a Q&A with the Tweentown girls, as well as our new beauty column with Audrey - giving her tips and tricks for her fellow tweens and teens. What the tweens think: We love the RUDOLPH TEGNER MUSEUM because the area around i t is full of heather in the Autumn, and sculptures everywhere i n the park. We just love walki ng around on the grounds. The museum i tself is a great mix of different types of artworks, and we love to see them all. There is also a great li ttle cafĂŠ - we like going there too.

Audrey Eva here - I just wanted to catch up with you guys and share some of the things I do to keep my skin looking good and myself fresh all day.
Once or twice a week I love using a sheet mask. It is great for freshening up my complexion and it makes me look like a mummy which is hilarious. I seriously scared my sister one night.
The first thing that I do is - every morning I take a wet cloth, and wash my face, and put some moisturizer around the face. The one I prefer in the morning is the Visibly clear from Neutrogena - it is creamy and not too thick.
Another detail is to remember to use a deodorant. Some kids actually need to start using deodorant when they are quite young. Sometimes you can use wet wipes if you forget, just to freshen up, and make sure you stay well clear of synthetic fabrics as that might make you smell too.Â
If it is sunny outside I always use a sun protection factor 50 or 30 on my face - my Mum always does the same and she has great skin. In the evening before bedtime, I clean my face with the Glossier exfoliating skin perfector and then use my Avene moisturizer afterwards. You have to keep your hands away from your face and stop picking - I did that a few times and it ended up with a scab, looking much worse and now I have a scar. So DON'T pick. Also keep your face, hands an pillow clean - clean means cleaner skin and that's good - right!
Body moisturizers are also great for keeping your skin hydrated. I use good old Nivea - the best. Thanks for reading along with me. Next time I'll share a few make-up tips. Not that I really use it yet, just practicing, and practice makes perfect - right!!!

why no t live a more sustainable life? We all have a responsibility to minimize the waste and look after the Ear th. There are no second chances. No Planet B as some of the many banners are pronouncing. The Tweentown tweens had a long chat about the topic. They are both huge fans of Greta Thunberg, because she is making everybody aware of the pending catastrofical issue with our Ear th, and they have compiled a little list of simple things that you and your tweens can do that will help the planet and teach them about the Ear th and Climate Change.
Q&A WITH THE TWEENTOWN GIRLS:
DO YOU KNOW WHAT SUSTAINABILITY MEANS?
So girls, what do you think we need to pay attention to in our World now?
A: Well, I guess it means, not to use more that nature gives us. And remembering not to buy things you don’t need.
A: I am worried about the Planet. It think we are killing Mother Ear th. H: Animals are swimming in plastic. I saw a picture of a tur tle with a straw out if it’s nose, and a dead whale full of plastic.It is disgusting and makes me really sad. BUT DO YOU GIRLS DO ANYTHING TO HELP? A: When I was little, plastic toys were the thing. But now I try to steer clear of plastic as much as possible. We always sell or donate our old toys, shoes and clothes. There are many cool apps where you can list it. Or we sell and buy used stuff on flea markets. I love stuff with a history. It is a type of recycling I think. H: In Denmark, all bottles, cans and even juice bottles get recycled. You actually get money for it, so our Mum lets us get the cash, so we love recycling. A: We also collect rubbish. Every time we see plastic flying around we chuck it out. It is bad in the summer. People just leave their stuff everywhere. In Denmark, we also have rubbish picking events. It is actually quite popular. The last one we joined, they picked up over 53.000 cigarette butts. That’s disturbing. H: And we also go around collecting money for Charities like kids in need, Red cross and so on. There is a lot of help needed other places in the World.
H: Yes, Now we always carry a fabric bag with us when we go shopping, and I always say no to plastic straws and cutlery. We even have a bamboo straw each at home. A: I also have a bamboo toothbrush. That means a bit less plastic. And we sor t our rubbish - plastic goes in the plastic container, paper somewhere else, food waste is also recycled etc. It is smar t. WHAT ARE YOUR TOP TIPS FOR LIVING A BIT MORE SUSTAINABLE? A: Take showers not baths. Don’t run the water whilst brushing teeth. H: Water the plants with my old drinking bottle water - instead of throwing it out. A: Bring a bag or basket to carry your shopping in that instead of buying a plastic bag. And if you do buy a plastic bag, use it as a binliner, that way it gets used twice. H: My mum says try to buy organic as much as possible. So we try our best with foods, and stuff.
A: If you can't go vegetarian all the time
have at least one meatfree day per week. It means the world to the Ear th (and animals) and does wonders for your own digestive system!

Meettween!! a So tell us a little about yourself? Hi, my name is Jo and I live in Risskov in Aarhus. I am 10 years old and go to 4th grade at Strandskolen. I live with my father, who is 46 years old from Aarhus, he runs 3 school clubs in Aarhus C, - and my mother, who is 38 years old and a childrenswear designer and the owner of KRUTTER and KNAST BY KRUTTER, and also my older sister Alba, - she is 14, and she goes to the same school as me but in the 8th grade.
Do you have any pets? We have no pets, but it almost feels like that because of our neighbour's cute cat Ollie comes here a lot. He comes in every day and loves to be cuddled and played with. What do you do in your spare time? In my spare time, I like to be with my friends. I go to gymnastics and hip hop showdance. Until now, until recently I also went to karate and have the blue belt in 'Nisseikai', which is a type of Japanese karate. I am also a model for my mother's brand KNAST BY KRUTTER and I think that is fun. I also like to build wooden things with my mom in our workshop. And with my Dad, I like when we draw pictures on eachothers backs and have to guess what it is.
Do you have a smartphone? Yes I have an Iphone 5s And do you use any favorite apps? I really like playing Hayday, which is a farm game where you can buy and sell things. But I also play Subwaysurfers and Slingkong.
Do you think about the environment? Yes, sometimes! I think it's a shame for the animals in the ocean to get plastic in their stomachs. And when we go for walks and see garbage lying around I think it's disgusting. I also sometimes collect garbage with my school, and when I am out and about with my family.
Do you do anything to live a greener life? We eat a lot of organic food in my family and we buy many things from the secondhand shop. We also build some stuff from old wood we have lying around and sew our own stuff too. We also grow vegetables, herbs, and berries in our garden, which I like to pick and eat. Then you know it is not full of fertilizer.
Have you ever helped cook in the kitchen? Yes, I often help in the kitchen. I like to make both cakes and food. When I bake, I like to bake choco-coconut cake & apple-cinnamon muffins. When I help cooking, I like to peel sweetcorn or make salads.Â

HIP HOP, SHOWDANCE, KARATE AND THE NEIGHBOUR'S CAT
What is your favourite food? It is homemade salmon rolls, and my Dad's fishcakes. The salmon rolls are something I make with my mother. We put cream cheese and herbs inside the smoked salmon and roll. I also love rice-pudding without butter. And the duckburger from the streetfood truck in the picture. Do you have chores at home? I have to empty our lunch boxes myself and clean up my room. But otherwise I have no specific chores, but often help. I empty the dishwasher, set the table, hang the laundry and fold it, and take out the garbage.
Who do you admire and why? I admire my mom because she is good at making stuff with wood and great at sewing, and my dad because he is great at the 'draw-on-my-back' game we play. I also admire my big sister because she is good at dancing ballet and doing karate. And my best friend Vega because she is soo good at gymnastics and because she is a good friend.
What is your biggest Dream? My biggest dream is to become famous or become a world champion in hip-hop show dance or open my own bank, which will be called “Disco-Lolland bank�.

What the tweens think: We love N Ø R R E B R O because the area is colourful, wi th people from all walks of life and countries. We love hanging out wi th our skateboards around the Red square, drink Bubble tea at Sankt Hans Torv and go to 'Den gamle by' and pet all the animals. It is also so much fun using the swan pedalboats on the lake. Afterwards, walking up NØRREBROGADE taki ng i t all i n is fun too. Loads to look at. Loads of shops.
Fave Eats: S t r a w b e r r y bubble tea from the Mad Hatters Bubble tea emporium. Brunch from w u l f f a n d c o n s t a l i is the best, because you get to choose what you want. Fries from J a g g e r s . They have a delicious mayo. The freshly squeezed orange juice from M i n a s - only 15 kroner. The porridge from GRØD is to die for. We always have the one wi th caramel sauce and apple.

What the tweens think: Best streetfood in town. We like the Skatepark, because i t is cool going skateboarding whi lst overlooking the harbour. It is fun si tting on the deckchairs i n the sunshi ne. Sometimes if you si t there long enough, you might see the sunset. The area used to be dead. Now is i t fun, wi th food trucks everywhere. It is also fun to walk around and see everythi ng that goes on there. They bui lt something new every time we come.
Fave Eats: T r o p i c a l S h av e i c e - a giant cone wi th multi-coloured shaved ICE. Moules Fri tés from R é p u b l i q u e - we think they're fab! What the tweens think: We love C H R I S T I A N S H A V N because of the colourful houses, and the beautiful canals. There is so much to see and volden is a great place to go for walks. If you like bridges, there are many here.
Climb the tower of Our Savior church you'll see breathtaki ng views of the ci ty. Keep walking and you'll fi nd the old Holmen, and the Royal Opera house. From here you could grab a waterbus back to the ci ty.

If you have your parents wi th you, you could go on a canaltour or rent a boat yourself - a fun way to explore from the water. Or walk i nto Christiania and look at all the homemade houses - there are some real fab ones there.

BE WHO YOU ARE and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind: Like Dr. Seuss said: if your friends keep picking on you, and what you say and what you do, you might want to reconsider those friendships. A real friend would LOVE what makes you different, because that is truly what makes you awesome.
YOU WILL MAKE MISTAKES: Yes, that's a cer tainty. Everybody makes mistakes. But just make sure your tween knows that she can always - no exceptions - come home and tell you. Nothing is too big or too bad to tell. Never keep secrets.
LITTLE BIG PERSON: Sometimes your tween behaves like a little kid, watching car toons, believing the toothfairy and going to the playground. Other times they'll be busy trying on make-up, doing their nails, and spending too much time on their phone. It is all par t of the process. They're growing up, finding out who they want to be.
SLEEPY HEAD: How much should a tween or teen sleep? Shor t answer - a LOT. And they need to because that's when their brain and body grow. You need to establish healthy sleep routines, and make sure they stay well clear off SoMe (their phones, Ipads, and computers) at least an hour before they hit the sack.

If we kick off, just let us be. Don't (seriously) try and argue back, because we will not let you win. We are not always right, but we will never admit it. And be aware - we somtimes just kick off - we don't even know why!! We will say sorry when we are ready Be the grown up. We are the kids, you are the adult. Remember that (ha ha). Sometimes we actually forget to clean up, brush our teeth, do our homework, get dressed. We are not lazy. We are growing up and that's hard work.
SoMe is the way we communicate these days. We send snaps, tictoc's and messages via Instagram, much more than you guys do. We are online a lot.
Trust our judgement, but please also give your advice, and keep an eye out We are testing the water and trying to get away with things. We do need your advice even though we might be telling you otherwise.

What the tweens think: We love C O P E H A G E N c i t y because of the one mi le long pedestrian street called STRĂ˜GET - wi th loads of shops for everyone. We are also fond of all the multi coloured pastel houses, the sweet li ttle squares everywhere and all the canals. Our favouri te places to visi t are: TIVOLI - well i t is the worlds oldest amusement park in the World, and kids do LOVE amusement parks. GLYPTOTEKET - our fave museum - i t has everything, includi ng Mummies and Degas. ROUND TOWER - run all the way to the top for the best views of the ci ty.
