About your Keynote Presenter

Carl Atkin

Carl has over 12 years' business management, consultancy, research and project experience across the agribusiness sector. In January 2011 he co-founded KinnAgri Limited, an international agribusiness management and consulting business. Carl's business consultancy interests have latterly extended across agricultural supply chains and farming and food businesses. He has worked with clients across the whole agribusiness value chain including major international life science companies and food processors, as well as numerous private and corporate farming businesses. One of his major clients is a publically listed agribusiness corporation which owns over 300,000 ha of farmland. His research interests include analysing and interpreting the implications of commodity market trends and global and EU agricultural policy on the food and farming industries, and he is currently Deputy Editor of the International Journal of Agricultural Management (jointly with Prof John Gardener, Massey University, New Zealand). Carl has a first class Honours Degree in Agriculture and Business Management from Newcastle University (2000) and a Postgraduate degree in Business Administration (MBA) (2007). He has also attended the Agribusiness Leadership Seminar at Harvard Business School, Boston, Massachusetts (2010). He is a Council Member of the UK Institute of Agricultural Management (MIAgrM) and a Member of the International Farm Management Association (IFMA), the Agricultural Economics Society (AES) and the Agricultural Law Association (ALA).
