The biggest potential of Dezember palast, building of congress centre from socialist era located in Katowice, is the big concert hall. My strategy aims to access the building by vertical duplication of programme - performance. It shows three ways where it is possible to perform generally- in exterior, inside of a hall with good acoustic or in semi-open amphiteatre. The relationship between bulding and the square is multiplied by a transparent facade and a mirror reflecting indoor happenings.

UWO

U W O - unidentified wooden object is a result of the 4th volume of 1:1 workshop located on the island Lido inside of a “mystical” forest full of ivy, crooked trees and diffused light. The object itself has no specific function, it should encourage you to use it the way you feel like at the particular moment. You can lay down and observe the sky, run around or have a picnic...It’s 5.5 meters wide and composed by curved beams put together into 8 triangles creating the supporting construction, finished with the cladding.

Festival site is located on the outskirts of Bratislava, near the Wolkswagen Slovakia park. Its area is apporximately 53ha and it's formed by 3 zones: parking, camping and festival. Overal capacity of the festival is 10000 people. The parking is divided into 5 zones- cars, buses, caravans, bikes and VIP. The camping zone consists of tent and challet villages, a pond with beaches, pavilions, restaurants and stalls. In the festival zone there are are 3 main stages, food courts, pavilions and art installations. Very important was the idea of one direct flow of people from parking into festival zone without creating any traffic knots. The area can be used during the whole year for various camps, worskhops and events.

Inside of the festival area there are located various constructions making it more interesting. For the purpose of relaxing, chill out, small performances or just a protection from rain and sun is designed a membrane structure which could be called a “hybrid because its construction connects two systems - tensegrity and membrane structure.

The structure used as a roofing for stages is a membrane structure combined with another system - cable net structure. These cables help the membrane to stay in the desired shape which under normal circumstances would not be possible.

PROPORTIO

In the collection of rings and brooches I was dealing with proportions, exploring this familiar topic through unfamiliar media - jewelery. In this case I was interested in destruction and deconstruction of certain propotions represented by a simple line. Each object has its particular quality which aims to change the appearance (and therefore also proportion) of a simple narrow line. This process is then visible on the surface reflection of the object. The final effect is achieved by surface and shape modifications, a play with materials.

UNI CINEMA

The cinema center is a complex of exterior and interior cinema halls, a continuous transition between two environments creating a gradient from open to semi-open up to closed quality of space. The shape and position of the curves is a result of a previous analysis where folding with crease and smooth edge allowed to create a visible contrast between single elements.

NON-SOLITAIRE

The project deals with the “resuscitation of the building of Cinema Hviezda in Trnava. Using a strategy of addition, the transit and remanent spaces around the cinema object are fully taken by a new structure. The original space of foyer is therefore transformed into courtyard connecting two main streets, creating a space where culture and city meet and collide together.

TENSEGRITY

During the semester we were developing an idea to design a chair or a seat using tesegrity structures - construction where none of its parts touches the others, holding together only because of the tension of the threads.

A proposed footbridge should connect two sides of the river Morava and at the same time two borders of countries Slovakia with Austria. Its construction combines tensegrity structure with a membrane used as a roofing.

SUPERGOLA

Fourteen architecture students from six different countries created an object located in the back part of the mansion park in Stupava, trying to return life into this forgotten place. Final object should evoke a “levitating roof, a strong horizontal line which is in contrast with all the vertical surrounding. Visible from distance, Supergola should encourage people to explore the potential of other interesting parts the park can offer. Composition of supporting collumns creates various types of spaces under the roof allowing the object to be used in different situations.
