The future of public health All human populations are organized into societies, hence the social sciences are essential to a full understanding of the health of populations, ie public health. As an example, in recent years the contribution of these disciplines in the study of socioeconomic determinants and health inequalities have opened a new world in the understanding of interactions between biological and social factors. However, there is also a biological dimension of human populations, expressed in its genetic characteristics, herd immunity and the interaction of the human population with other populations, such as microbial interaction. The current reality public health challenges for it to point to the ways forward in society in terms of health and health care in a setting of extraordinary complexity. In our communities today are very heterogeneous situations occur, which coexists with other chronic infectious diseases, must adapt health systems to include control of them. Health problems of the environment offer another field of interest and challenge for the discipline. The study and management of environmental health is a specialty of Public Health.
