SOMEDAY THE SILVER CORD WILL BREAK by Fanny Crosby

SILVER CORD MINISTRIES exists to care for the spiritual needs of Homebound Senior Adults, to train others in the ministry to Homebound Senior Adults, and to create and send teams to aid ministries in other countries to care for the spiritual needs of their Homebound Senior Adults.

SILVER CORD MINISTRIES

Some day the silver cord will break, And I no more as now shall sing, But, O, the joy when I awake Within the palace of the King. And I shall see Him face to face, And tell the story saved by grace. Some day my earthly house will fall, I cannot tell how soon 'twill be, But this I know, my All in All Has now a place in heaven for me. And I shall see Him face to face, And tell the story saved by grace.

Serving the Spiritual Needs of the Senior Adult Community

Some day, when fades the golden sun Beneath the rosy-tinted West, My blessed Lord will say, "Well done!" And I shall enter into rest. And I shall see Him face to face, And tell the story saved by grace. Some day— till then I'll watch and wait, My lamp all trimmed and burning bright, That when my Saviour opes the gate, My soul to Him may take its flight. And I shall see Him face to face, And tell the story saved by grace.

Do you know someone who is Homebound? Do you know a Senior Adult who is Hospitalized? Are they cut-off from any spiritual contact? Do you have Elderly relatives or neighbors who are unchurched and have no pastor to share the love of Christ with them?

Silver Cord Ministries is here to help! Our passion is making sure those who are Homebound experience the love of Christ in whatever circumstances they find themselves. •

“A great part of them are hungry for your fellowship!” (A Minnetonka Resident) “I can’t get out to my church, so I am very glad you come here!” (A Wayzata Resident) “When the Residents ask me if someone is going to take them to church, I can remind them that we have service here on Tuesday afternoons. Once they remember that, they are satisfied.” (Joy Folie, Aging Joyfully) “Thank you for bringing me Communion and visiting with me. I have grown more and more in love with Jesus because you come.” (Eden Prairie Resident)

Rev. Judy Marks is the Executive Director of Silver Cord Ministries. She has her B.A. in Ministries from Northwestern College and her MATS from Bethel Theological Seminary. She has been a Chaplain to Senior Adults since 2001 and has been in ministry for 20+ years.

Pastor Samuel and Priscah Wafula direct our Kenya Office of Silver Cord Ministries. Many Elderly in Kenya have been left to fend for themselves with no money or family to care for them. Pastor Samuel has recruited Volunteers to help him in this much-needed ministry and many Elderly are coming to know Christ and experience His love, for the first time in their lives!

“Do not cast me away when I am old; do not forsake me when my strength is gone.” Psalm 71:9
