SILVER CORD CONNECTION “Remember your Creator...before the Silver Cord is severed...and the dust returns to the ground it came from…” Ecclesiastes 12

THE LEAST OF THESE... God’s Spirit is on me; He’s chosen me to preach the Message of Good News to the poor, Sent me to announce pardon to prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind, To set the burdened and battered free, to announce, “This is God’s year to act!” Luke 4:18-19 (The Message) Have you ever stopped to wonder what Jesus was saying when He announced His mission that His Father had sent Him to do? Believe me when I say that He wasn’t just sent to take care of physical needs! Yes, Jesus did heal many physical diseases. But, His main mission was to proclaim the Good News that He was sent to sacrifice Himself so that all humanity could experience God’s forgiveness! When Jesus said that He was sent to preach the Good News to the “poor,” He wasn’t necessarily speaking of

those without money. In His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said, Blessed are the poor in spirit...If one is poor in spirit, this constitutes one who is destitute in riches in relationship to his spirit and one who is helpless or powerless to improve his spiritual situation on his own. Jesus came to give us a new spirit — the Holy Spirit — when we accept His gift of salvation! Jesus came to pardon all of us who were prisoners to sin. But Scripture has shown that all mankind are the prisoners of sin, in order that the promised blessing, which depends on faith in Jesus Christ, may be given to those who believe. Galatians 3:22 (Weymouth Translation) Not only did Jesus physically give sight to the blind, He gives spiritual sight to those in spiritual darkness. I am Light that has come into the world, so that all who

believe in Me won’t have to stay any longer in the dark. John 12:46 (The Message) Jesus came to set us free from the burdens of life! He came to lift that burden from us and carry it for us! Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11:29 (NIV) Why do I mention these things? Because we, as Christians, are Christ’s disciples and are commanded to bring this Good News to everyone! The other day, I had someone ask me if it was worth it to minister to those who might not remember the next day that I had been there. My answer was an adamant “Yes!” If I can relieve their burdens for that moment, I have done it unto the least of these. Matthew 25:40

HAVE YOU SEEN THIS VEHICLE AROUND TOWN?

PRAISE THE LORD! During the month of June, a generous donor gave this 2002 Buick Rendezvous to SILVER CORD MINISTRIES! This vehicle is large enough to carry a podium and other materials needed for Worship Services and

Bible Studies. There is, also, plenty of room to transport Seniors for any special church or evangelistic functions. Please pray that the Lord would use this vehicle for His glory! If you happen to see it

driving around town, use that opportunity as a reminder for you to pray for the Seniors in your area. Pray that there will be someone who takes the time to share Christ’s love with them. Pray that they will have the opportunity to secure their Home in Heaven, if they don’t yet have

that assurance. Pray for SILVER CORD MINISTRIES to have a great impact for Christ throughout the Twin Cities! Pray that the Annual Budget will be met (or, exceeded) at the Banquet, so more Homebound Seniors will experience Christ’s love!
