Siliken Modules Top-Rank Quality
The quality of Siliken modules is acknowledged the world over and certified by independent laboratories. In 2010, the leading independent survey carried out in the test laboratories of Photon Magazine in Aachen, Germany, classed the companyÂ’s modules as the best performers and second best in 2011.
During the tests that were performed on the modules of 23 manufacturers throughout 2010, Siliken ranked No. 1. The tests showed that they generated 5.9% more power than the average of all of the studied modules and 12.4% more with respect to the minimum value.
During the evaluations that were carried out throughout 2011 on the modules of 36 manufacturers, Siliken was ranked No. 2. The tests showed that its modules generated 4.6% more power than the average and 14.7% above the minimum value.

The best qualification worldwide
The Siliken worldwide standard stipulates IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 specific test sequences, conditions and requirements for the design qualification of photovoltaic crystalline silicon modules suitable for long-term operation in general outdoor climates and module safety. The company has its own test laboratory in which module samples supplied by its various production plants are evaluated. In this way, Siliken surveys and ensures the functionality, durability and quality of its entire production. The laboratory is equipped with the most complete and sophisticated equipment to guarantee the right diagnosis.
Siliken UV Chambers To precondition the module with ultra-violet (UV) radiation before the thermal cycle / humidity freeze tests to identify those materials and adhesive bonds that are susceptible to UV degradation.
Our methodology Specific IEC-compliante test sequences
The internal test sequences in our own laboratories are quality committed: 1. Initial Diagnostic: Visual inspection, Maximum power determination, Insulation test, Wet leakage current test. 2. Performance: Measurement of temperature coefficients, NOCT, Performance at STC and NOCT, Performance at low irradiance, Outdoor exposure test. 3. Climatic Tests: UV Preconditioning test, Thermal cycling test 50 cycles, Thermal cycling test 200 cycles, Humidity freeze test 10 cycles, Damp heat test 1000 hours. 4. Mechanical Stress: Robustness of termination tests, Mechanical load tests. 5. Fire Safety: Bypass diode thermal test, Hot-spot endurance test. Siliken uses climatic test chambers to carry out withstand tests to climate changes. The purpose of mechanical load test is to determine the ability of the module to withstand wind, snow, static or ice loads.
Siliken Climatic Chambers To determine the ability of the module to withstand thermal mismatch, fatigue and other stresses caused by repeated changes of temperature, the effects of high temperature and humidity followed by subzero temperatures, and long-term penetration of humidity.

Our manufacturing quality control checks: O HSA
1. Checking of the solar cell Cell defects are checked before the cells go to production lines.

They are turned by a high-precision robot, preparing them for the next step.
4. Checking the connection box position and sealing Once the module has been laminated, the connection box is assembled and the correct position and sealing are automatically checked. 5. Insulating and framing The module's perimeter is covered by a double-sided tape which will insulate its edges against external agents and protect it from direct contact with the aluminium frame. Framing is done automatically. Next, the correct assembly is checked. 6. Electroluminiscence testing and visual inspection Modules are checked using electroluminiscence to detect such defects imperceptible to the eye as micro cracks. Then a visual inspection is performed observing strict internal quality requirements. 7. Checking power output, electrical parameters and electrical safety All of the modules are tested in a solar simulator to validate their power output, electrical parameters and insulation test.
OHSAS 18001: 2007, No. ES12/11906: The organisation applies occupational safety and health management in accordance with the OHSAS 18001 No. ES12/11906 norm.(*) EUROPEAN QUALITY ASSURANCE: Carbon Footprint Certificate, is based on the calculation of the total GHG emissions from the entire process of manufacturing to handing the SLK60P6L modules to the client.
2. String control The distance between strings and the welding is controlled automatically. The strings are correctly connected by measuring voltage and polarity. 3. Laminating and vacuum control The modules are automatically placed in the laminating machine in which, through vacuum and temperature control, a reaction of the (EVA) encapsulant occurs.
TÜV Certificate IEC 61215, 61730, 61701: Certifies that our PV modules meet the qualification standards of IEC61215, safety standard of IEC61730 and salt mist corrosion of IEC61730.
Declaration of Conformity CE (CE Marking): Guarantees that our products are suitable for the European market.
PV Cycle Member: Collection and recycling of end-of-life PV modules practically reducing its environmental footprint to zero.
Clean Energy Council: Qualification listing the design and/or installation competences of stand-alone and/or PV solar systems under the Australian regulation. KIWA / IEC 62716: Ammonia Resistance.
ISRAEL ELECTRIC CORPORATION, LTD: Guarantees that PV modules are suitable for any PV installation in Israel. JET: The JETPVm certification mark prove the PV module successful completion of applicable tests based on relevant international standards through a series of tests carried out by JET as the third party testing body (still in process of certification). Fire Resistance, Class C: Certifies the fireproof capacity of the rooftop installations exposed to simulated fire. (*) The scope of the certification covers the Siliken Manufacturing, S.L.U. Business Unit including the design, manufacture, distribution and after-sales services of PV modules in work centers in Spain and Rumania.
