MISSIONS 1.

Primarily to produce high-quality bachelor’s degree engineers and related technologists who are able to handle advanced industrial technologies and use English as a working language

BRIEF HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT

1992

Agreement of Cooperation among Thammasat University, the Federation of Thai Industries, and Keidanren to set up bachelor's degree programs in engineering Admission of the first batch of students to bachelor's degree programs in civil, electrical, and industrial engineering

1993 1994 1996

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously laid the cornerstone of the Institute's main building Issuance of regulations on the formation and operation of the International Institute of Technology as a non-government and autonomous institute by the Thammasat University Council His Majesty the King graciously granted the name "Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology� His Majesty the King graciously accepted the first Honorary Doctoral Degree in Information Technology (IT) from SIIT, which was humbly presented by the Thammasat University Council Graduation of the first batch of students Master's degree programs in science and technology were approved by the Thammasat University Council The Cornerstone Laying Ceremony of an Advanced Laboratory Building was presided over by His Excellency Anand Panyarachun

1997

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously presided over the inauguration of the Institute's new name "Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology" PhD programs in engineering and science were approved by the Thammasat University Council; the first PhD student and first MS student were admitted

The Federation of Thai Industries and Keidanren jointly dedicated the Advanced Laboratory Building to SIIT on October 6, 1998 Inauguration of the SIIT Advanced Laboratory Building was presided over by Mr. Paron Israsena, Former Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries The Federation of Thai Industries signed an agreement with Bangkadi Industrial Park to provide approximately 6 rai (0.96 hectare) of land and a building for SIIT expansion

The Cornerstone Laying Ceremony of the new SIIT Building at Bangkadi, Pathum Thani, was presided over by Thanpuying Niramol Suriyasat Opening Ceremony of Thanpuying Niramol Suriyasat Building and IT & MT Building at Bangkadi was presided over by His Excellency Anand Panyarachun Graduation of the first batch of doctoral students (3 PhD graduates)
