bixby Knolls violinist to perform beethoven with bellflower Symphony Violinist and Bixby Knolls resident Jennifer Lindsey will give a full Beethoven performance with the Bellflower Symphony Orchestra and Maestro Joseph Taylor on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 7pm at the William and Jane Bristol Civic Auditorium, 16600 Civic Center Dr., in Bellflower. The program will include: Consecration of the House Overture; Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 61; and Symphony No. 6 in F Major, Op. 68 (“Pastoral Symphony”). City of SH revamps its website to be more user-friendly, helpful The City of Signal Hill recently unveiled a new website that is more user-friendly, making it easier for visitors to conduct City business online and enhancing how citizens conduct business with the City. The new website provides the community with current information about how to access City services, request assistance to resolve a concern, or report a problem. It also provides information about City operations and other topics of interest. “The new website features a fresh, new look and includes easy-toaccess, up-to-date content,” said Signal Hill Mayor Edward Wilson. “Community members can stay informed about upcoming events and public meetings by regularly checking the Calendar of Events, News and Announcements sections, or sign up to be notified by email about up-

Our intent was to provide better customer service that is readily available, inviting, and simple to use.” Some of the items include: a detailed calendar of events; an online job application; online project bid information; frequently asked questions; a searchable archive of City Council, Planning Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission, and Civil Service Commission agenda and minutes; city newsletters and press releases; e-news sign up; a comprehensive directory of city staff with contact information; and a document center with online forms.
