A chance to help build the recovery Building and engineering companies from the North-West should not miss an opportunity to learn more about being part of government building and infrastructure projects later this week says the Federal Member for Braddon, Sid Sidebottom MP. Mr Sidebottom said the Building the Recovery information session on Thursday in Devonport was a chance for local industry to increase or gain new access to government and private sector building and infrastructure work. “All around us we see many exciting projects and hope to see many more, which will help increase jobs and build the economy of the region,” Mr Sidebottom said. “This region has a number of innovative companies, both large and small, who can compete well with operators from around the country. “These sessions are aimed at priority areas such as the North-West, where jobs have been or are under threat, to make sure we make the most of any opportunities.” The Building the Recovery Information Sessions in priority employment areas assist addressing several key issues raised at the Keep Australia Working forums. These issues include: access to opportunities generated by stimulus package measures and other investment in priority employment areas improving linkages between levels of government, employment service providers and training providers access to government services and assistance. The North-West session will be held from 4.30pm to 7pm, this Thursday, May 20 at the Quality Hotel Gateway, Devonport.
