Announcements week of September 15th Interested in becoming part of SHPC? The next SHPC Inquirers' Classes will be held starting TONIGHT, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. then again September 22nd. Visitors wishing to join the congregation or considering membership may speak to a pastor or Jim Riggs or just show up. The Session will receive class participants wishing to join into church membership later in the year. Childcare is available, but reservations must be made in advance.

Call for Mentors! Kids Hope is gearing up again for the 2013/2014 school year. We are in the process of recruiting mentors and prayer partners to join the program with Williams Elementary this fall. If you have one hour a week to give to a child, please consider Kids Hope. If you are interested in learning more, check out the Kids Hope USA website at or contact Lori Whitmire at This year’s mentor training will be held Sept. 22nd from 1:30-4:30. Pre-registration is requested so we can plan accordingly.




Do you have a stage-production talent you’d like to use to build faith in our elementary-aged children? We’re beginning to fill roles for Big Story Live! Productions with our Children’s Ministry. We have many regular acting roles and one-time Bible character roles available as well as stage hand, hospitality, and technical assistant needs. Totally Awkward Teen & Parent Conference

We are looking for couples and young families to help re-establish SHPC’s ministry to this population. The program is ours to form, and we want YOU to be a part of it! Totally Awkward is all about getting parents in students together to begin the discussion on puberty, dating and social media. The conference is October 10th through 12th.
