Help the Caring Forever Endowment Committee!
It's kick off time again! FILO is a young adults group that participates in monthly Bible study and service/social events!
The Endowment Committee does behindthe-scenes work all year, not just during their big push in May. And a key member of that team is the administrator. The duties are a little here, and a little there — sending donor notes, listing the honorees for the announcements, writing up the meeting minutes, pulling together the Award information and the Mother’s Day drive publicity. Some duties are weekly at most, the others are monthly or annually. Can you help? Contact Deb Erlanson, email@example.com 512.301.2522
Interested? Join us for our annual kickoff party TONIGHT, September 23rd at 6 p.m.! We’re meeting at the food trailers on South Congress for food, fellowship and fun! We look forward to meeting new friends and answering any questions about our group! 2
The Ark, our Sunday School for preschoolers, is still looking for helping hands. To share your time, love and energy with our 2s, 3s, 4s or pre-K 5s, contact Pastor Britta at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more about the various opportunities available. We have openings at both 9:30 and 11 a.m. for leaders, helpers and substitutes. Training and all resources are provided, so please consider the exuberant joy and big smiles you'll gain by sharing your gifts!
Our elementary UpStreet program is growing... which means we are still looking for fun-loving folks to join our leadership team! If you have a heart for kiddos in Kindergarten through 5th grade and would like to meet with a group of 6-8 of them on a regular basis, please contact Pastor Britta at email@example.com to learn more about how to get involved and make a difference in the life of our SHPC children! We provide training and all resources, so all that is required from you is a willingness to get to know your gang and share the love of Christ with them!

Our guests are coming!
(50± Adult Ministry)
● Mary-Martha Circle will meet on Oct. 4th from 10 a.m. to 12 in the FMC. The Rev. Ted Thulin will be our speaker and lesson! There’s coffee and cookies and lots of visiting, so don't miss out on all the fun.
Our week of hospitality, September 30th — October 7th, is almost here! We still need your hands and hearts to help us give these families a home for the week. Sign up in the narthex for this volunteer opportunity or contact Stuart McIntire stuart78704 @ yahoo.com / 788-4455 or Lara Manire 922-3615.
● ASSOCIATION OF RETIRED CHRISTIAN MEN (ARCM) have resumed getting together at 10 a.m. on Thursdays in the library for scripture, prayer, and a short devotional. Bring a friend for a little Christian hospitality! What is the reality of 2012? What are the ways of looking at the world that shape how people interpret this reality? Are we to be swept up into a view of reality that is not of our choosing, driven by technological, societal, and cultural forces too great to resist? Or can we choose a different vision of Reality? Join us October 12 & 13 at the 2012 C.S. Lewis Symposium as Jerry Root helps us look through the lens of Lewis’ book The Discarded Image to consider what it means to think as a Christian about the landscape of ideas which surround us today and, most importantly, “how shall we now then live?” (from Ezekiel 33:10) For more details and to register, visit http://hillcountryinstitute.org/?p=866 5
