SAM EXCURSION: Kayaking and Canoeing on Lady Bird Lake, Wednesday, July 20th IF THE THOUGHT OF running the rapids on the San Marcos River was too ‘exhilarating’ for you, join the SHPC older adults as we kayak and canoe on the tranquil waters of Lady Bird Lake. There's no reservation required. Just be at the church at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20th to carpool to the Texas Rowing Center. Once there, we'll join other seniors for the Senior Adventure, which occurs every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and includes a guide. If you're feeling adventurous, they do have standup paddle boards! The cost is $15 for any kayak or for a canoe. Questions? Email

It's time for a western movie, and SAM is sponsoring a classic western for all SHPC adults. According to Western Classic Movies.com, "With a great storyline, outstanding performances and an awardwinning soundtrack, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is a classic western that is not to be missed!"

Ÿ Artificial Flowers Ÿ Bistro table and chairs Ÿ Red and White checked tablecloths (round only)

So join us as Butch Cassidy (Paul Newman), Sundance Kid (Robert Redford), and Etta Place (Katharine Ross) rob banks, ride bicycles, jump off cliffs, and "sightsee" in Bolivia. Popcorn and soft drinks will be provided.

malawi mission network

(Senior Adult Ministry)

As the host congregation for the Malawi Mission Network conference August 11-14th, SHPC needs folks to provide transportation to our arriving guests on August 11th and to serve as hospitality volunteers at the hotel on August 11th, 12th, and 13th. We also need folks to help serve breakfast to the network guests visiting Shepherd of the Hills on Sunday, August 14th, when they worship with us. Want to support our work in Malawi? Curious about one of the groups that makes good things happen there? Lend a hand! Those interested should email: tom.omeara@sbcglobal.net . 2
