MYC (Mothers of Young Children) is inviting all moms to join us for this year-long look at the book of Esther. Taking into consideration that your days (and nights) can be a bit hectic, we're slowing down the pace to make this doable for you! We'll meet Thursday mornings from 9:30-11:30 a.m., starting September 29th and wrapping up next May. This class does NOT conflict with MOPS — dates are set to run on the weeks that MOPS is not, so you can sign up for both and spend every Thursday with us! For detailed class dates and cost info (including child care), check our webpage members.shpc.org/adult/classes_other/MYC.php . For other questions, contact Pastor Britta britta@shpc.org or Kimber Wilkins kimber_wilkins@yahoo.com . 2

· ASSOCIATION OF RETIRED CHRISTIAN MEN gathers every Thursday at 10 a.m. in port. A. This month at ARCM:

Help for the hearing impaired Did you know that SHPC has hearing assist devices that will make the service sound crystal clear? Now you will be able to hear every word as if it was spoken directly to you. Please see our sound techs in the Sound Room.

August 11th: Stefan Haag, a political science professor, will discuss the implications of the U.S. debt August 18th: Jim Abercrombie will contrast Islam and Christianity August 25th: Faries McDaniel, “dealers choice!”

Men, mark your calendars and plan to attend these events. Whether retired or not, perhaps one or two of these discussions will catch your eye! We always include Biblical scripture, prayer, coffee and a snack. And there is no admission charge. Imagine that!

Cell phone etiquette Please remember to silence your cell phone during the worship service. And remember—unless you are texting God, those text messages can probably wait till the service is over.

Please take a moment to fill a name tag out (or bring yours from home). This is a great way for you to meet someone new and make people feel welcome. Thanks! 3
