Amazing Aging: Embrace the benefits that come with age Let’s face it, we wonder if Cindy Crawford’s secret to aging is inside all those little bottles of creams and cleansers. In a way, they may help hide our age, but at the end of the day, every year a birthday comes with a new, higher number. A Time Magazine article once pointed out that our aging population may have it better than Millennials and Generation X. Think about it, Baby Boomers tend to have less anxiety, depression and screen time wasn’t an issue for you. Baby Boomers are the generation of Amazing Aging. If you’re shaking your head in disbelief, consider these benefits: d The grandchildren: Your kids are grown and are now having babies. It’s them dealing with the bedtime routine, setting screen-time limits (An issue you didn’t have), and organizing school drop off and pick up. Your job – play, spoil return and repeat. d Sense of accomplishment: The hard part is over. Now, it’s time to look back, brag and enjoy the road that lies ahead. d Doing whatever you want: Are you thinking about traveling? Have you always wanted to take a trip to another country? Now, you get to do what you’ve always wanted to do. d Let the system work for you: You’ve paid your dues. You’ve worked hard, saved, and planned. Now, let retirement, Social Security and Medicare take care of you. d Senior Discounts: Let’s face it, these are starting to be seen everywhere. From the movie theater, to your local favorite restaurant- the senior discount is a sweet part of Amazing Aging. In the end, while you may say getting old is a pain (literally sometimes) – We say embrace it, and continue to be amazing. By: Thelma Grimes
