Shopping News Photo by Donald Reese After months of planning, the "Ephrata Honors" Banners are being hung along Main Street and State Street in Downtown Ephrata. The banners are a fundraiser sponsored by the Ephrata Merchants Association and the Cocalico Valley Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3376 (Ephrata VFW). The banners are a way for citizens to honor a loved one who served, or currently serves, in the United States Armed Forces. Proceeds from the banner program will support the many Veteran Assistance Programs sponsored by Cocalico Valley VFW Post 3376 and the Ephrata Downtown Holiday Lights, sponsored by the Ephrata Merchants Association. The Ephrata Merchants Association and the Cocalico Valley VFW Post 3376 wish to thank the community for rallying behind this program. A special “Thank You” to the Ephrata Borough Council Members, Staff Members of the Ephrata Borough Office, and the Public Works Department. Shown is one view of the banners on Main Street and the one banner shown close up honors Wilbur J. Harley, who served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII from 1941 to 1945.
