- Townie Crit,Tuesday August 23, 2011, 11:45 am, Elk Avenue Sprint Line Kick off the day Crested Butte style by participating in the much anticipated return of the Townie Criterium! - US Handcycling Criterium, Tuesday August 23, 2011, 1:15 pm, Elk Avenue Sprint Line As a part of the U.S. Para Cycling Challenge. - Strider Cup, Tuesday August 23, 2011, 1:00 pm, Mt. Crested Butte Finish Line Even the littlest of riders can experience the thrill of racing across the finish line.

Gunnison Pass-Through Day Expo, Tuesday August 23, 2011, 11:00 am – 4:00 pm, Gunnison Come early to watch the whole stage on the jumbotron set up in downtown Gunnison’s IOOF Park at Main Street and Virginia Avenue beginning at 11 a.m. The live action is expected to roar through Gunnison midday sometime between 1:45 - 2:45 p.m. Live music, activities for the whole family and a beer garden at this Pass-Through Day Expo until 4 p.m.

- Mt. Crested Butte Finish Festival, Tuesday August 23, 2011, 11 am – 5 pm, Mt. Crested Butte In Mt. Crested Butte, the finish line will come alive with a Finish Festival including live music and a “Taste of the Town” planned from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Gunnison Stage Start Expo, Wednesday August 24, 2011, 8:00 am, Gunnison The Queen Stage Downtown Expo kicks off in downtown Gunnison at 8 a.m., featuring autograph alley with the Pro cyclists on Tomichi Avenue and Main Street, a vendor expo and a pre-start program complete with color guards, local cycling heroes and the national anthem. Craft your own crown, channel your excitement with a cow bell to send off the riders in style, and stick around to watch the drama of stage two unfold on the Jumbotron at IOOF Park throughout the day. There will be live music, activities for the whole family and a beer garden until the stage finish. Kids on bikes get to race off the official start line at 10:15 a.m.

Where 135 crosses the Gunnison River

Roads to Cottonwood Pass, Wednesday August 24, 2011. Almont to top of Cottonwood Pass - Highway 135 between Almont and Gunnison, expect delays beginning at approximately 9:00am - County Road 742 Taylor River Road, from George Bailey Drive (just past Three River’s Resort) closes at 8:30am. Closes at the intersection of Taylor River and HW #135 at 9:15 AM. - County Road 813 Jack’s Cabin Road will not be closed. Traffic will be held at the intersection with the Taylor River Road beginning at 8:00 AM, but traffic will be allowed to use the road from HW #135 to the intersection. - Cottonwood Pass will be closed to all traffic except the Western State College Shuttles until we are notified by race officials that it can be opened.
