If you encounter difficulties paying your rent, water charges or leaseholder service charges, you should contact the Customer Finance Team as soon as possible. In most cases we will be able to help you and by making an early arrangement you may be able to avoid court proceedings and extra costs being incurred.

Ways to pay your rent, water charges and leaseholder service charges 594 / December 2009
It is our aim to make it as simple as possible for you to pay your rent, water charges and service charges by providing as many payment methods as possible. You can obtain further details about payment methods by telephoning the Customer Finance Team on the following numbers:

You can make payments as follows: By Direct Debit You can pay your rent and water charges by Direct Debit and receive an annual discount for doing so. Simply ring the Customer Finance Team and ask for a Direct Debit Mandate Form.
By Telephone You can pay using a debit or credit card by telephoning 0161 474 4050. This service is available 24 hours a day.
On the Internet You can pay with a debit or credit card at: www.stockport.gov.uk /payments
At a Post Office, PayPoint or PayZone outlet. You can pay at any Post Office, PayPoint or Payzone outlet displaying the PayPoint or Payzone logo, using a swipe card. Post Offices are open on Saturday mornings and many PayPoint outlets are open seven days a week and late nights. To request a free payment swipe card please contact the Customer Finance Team.
