Plan Ahead! Register free with Stockport’s Carers Emergency Alert Card, which is managed by Carecall.
How Do I Register? You will need to decide what you would like to happen in case of an emergency, and specify the arrangements that need to be made. For help with this, or to discuss your own situation, you can contact: • Age Concern if you care for an older person; • Making Space if you care for a person with mental health problems; or • Signpost for all other carers. How does it work? You will receive two cards the size of a credit card, one for you and one for the person you care for. They will both have the Carecall telephone number and your individual ID number on them, which you can also store in your mobile phone under ICE (In Case of Emergency) Card one is for the carer. You can use this card to summon help in an emergency. If you are not able to make this call yourself, someone coming to your aid will be able to make it for you. Card two is for the person you care for. This card offers peace of mind to carers of those people who are independent but may not be able to communicate well with others, if they become lost or ill, or their caring arrangements break down. In an emergency you, or someone coming to your aid can ring the Carecall number on your card to put your emergency plan into action.
