Cambewarra • Kangaroo Valley From Nowra take the winding road over Cambewarra Mountain, through rainforest ferns and tall timbers. Stop for tea at Cambewarra Lookout and if you’re lucky, watch the hang gliders taking off.

Follow the road down to the village through a lush rural and bush landscape, looking out for lyrebirds that may dart across the road in front of you. The Kangaroo Valley village has a charm all its own, with historic buildings, galleries, quaint shops, great cafes and the delightful stone pub. Unique to the Valley, the famous stone Hampden Bridge spans the Kangaroo River and Australia’s oldest suspension bridge. Nearby is the Kangaroo Valley Pioneer Settlement Museum Park housing old buildings, machinery and artifacts from the 19th century. Take time to drive to the Upper Kangaroo Valley area to be amazed by the dramatic backdrop of the escarpment or paddle a canoe on the river. Drive distance: approx. 108km
