Juxtaposing the idea of luxury on the existing traditional wood carved structure, and hence choosing the furniture elements which would complement both traditions and luxury.

Providing Art Gallery on ground floor was a concious decision, in order to help in promote his work and get connected to common people whi were his source of inspiration.

Idea was to amalgamate work place and residence, providing room for privacy as well as connection.

Jumping on the stairs i go, To the world of tetrahedrons that flow. Ramps and landings, stairs and bridges, At every step the module varies. Light and shadow play an important role, In making you eager to explore more.

Through the tunnel I go, Down to the bridge that glow. Every path leads to a place, Which is eager to show the whole structure in one gaze.

PROJECT: Pavilion for Blind STUDIO: Material Studio, Semester III DATE: July-November 2014 LOCATION: GCP Business Center,

This was the first group project we did as a batch, right from conceptualization, planning, making the models, handling the client, handling the labourers, on site execution to the final exhibition was a team effort. We had a very pod learning experience, as we were introduced to corian, CNC, and Laser cutting for the first time. Also the practical aspects were clear as we got familiar to the hurdles which came while building up the structure.

The main concept for the pod was to built a structure cum installation, which functions a bank as well as a cafe, and is also an experience for both visually impaired people, whom we neglect most of the times.

Accomplishments

An experience of working as a group, interaction with visually impaired people, dealing with labourers, fixing a budget, learning new techniques, knowing new materials, and most important, learning from our own mistakes......the pod taught us everything!

Impressions

We nailed it :P

Contrasting colour pallete shifted the focus to the products, emphasizing the colourful Mojaris, also giving the feel of Rajathan from where the Mojaris originate.

Murshidabad’s diverse demography cut across caste, creed and cultural difference, and its distinctive Jain settlement is representative of this syncretism, strong cultural confluences are embedded within this historic landscape - simultaneously reflecting rich Islamic built from, traditional Bangla terracotta architecture with Jain iconography and stylistic moorings.

PROJECT: Built Forms, Communities and Crafts DATE: December 2014 LOCATION: Rajasthan

Rajasthan embraces both the crafts done by locals and the royalty, ergo gave us an opportunity to see the transformation of the craft to crafted royalty. Alot of differnce can be created when layering of crafts is added to built forms.

We realized that the roots of traditions never change but what changes is the expression, and every thing has to grow with time.
