Creator of Digital Web-Store Minimass Studio Feb 2017 - Present •

Launched web-store selling downloadable digital prints, to generate a passive income during university.

Designed the web-store branding, as well as the prints for sale.

Marketed the store through dedicated social media business pages (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest), with special offers (e.g. buy-one-get-one-free).

Composed descriptions and marketing copy for each print, including legal terms that prevented the prints from being used by others for profit.

The store was set up to allow multiple sales to be made from a single design, costing just a few hours of work for a stream of income.

M.Arch Master’s Thesis The Drawdown City

I am currently teaching myself Spanish.

I love a good fantasy novel, and they tend to supplement the aforementioned world-building.

In another life, I think I might have become a film-set designer.

North Light Skylights

No Windows

The studio spaces are given north-facing skylights in order to take best advantage of daylight conditions in terms of art. The glazing is translucent in order to allow more indirect light into the space.

As a result of previous research into lighting conditions, the decision was taken to provide only skylights CENTRAL and not north-facing windows. This is due to the resulting glare on canvas, and the casting of shadows ENTRANCE onto the canvas if the artist had their backs facing said windows.

Board-marked Concrete Walls

Room Height

This material was chosen for its industrial aesthetic. The lighter colour of the concrete was to be able to bounce some light around, without bouncing around enough light to cause glare or other such issues. The texture of the walls also contribute to this issue.

Sculpture studios require more space than a painting studio, both in terms of area and in height. While the studios were given 3m of height, the sculpture studio’s skylight gives the space significantly more space than the painting studios.

Skylights

The Health Centre rests to the west of the proposal, and is the first part of the building encountered by the majority of the public.

The circulation of the building is immediately clear upon entering - the west wing houses the health element, and the arts lies to the east. This clarity was a vital identified feature to bring to the design.

The service cores of the proposal are pushed to the back of each facility - they house the plant rooms, utility, service and storage spaces of the proposal.

There is an abundance of daylight brought into the proposal through the use of skylights, which have been carefully selected to bring light to specific areas.

Work Experience 2015/16 Selected Project

Archaeologist Residence The design of the residence was mostly complete when I joined the team. I worked on drawing up the elevations in AutoCAD, created the 3D model from scratch on SketchUp, and worked on the boundary wall approval drawings. At a later stage, I also updated the plans/sections of the proposal for Tender and for Costing by the QS team.

Work Experience 2015/16 Selected Project

Waterfront Villas I began work on this gated residential community complex by drawing the scanned survey plans on AutoCAD. I then worked within a three-person design team to draw up proposals in the form of plans, sections and elevations.

Renovation of Geoffrey Bawa Residence The firm was asked to renovate a house that had been designed by Geoffrey Bawa into a bespoke office. I was part of the team that first visited the house and, having measured and photographed it, drew up the CAD plans of the property that the team then used to design.
