ELEMIS & B LISS PER MA N EN T R ETA IL

BRIEF Design and create new in-store areas for the spa and beauty brand Elemis in multiple branches of the department store Debenhams, John Lewis, and Lane Crawford. SOLUTION A mix of standalone sites for Elemis, the designs developed a more premium feel through a softer look and a 3D depth to graphics, dividers and backlit panels. Colourchanging lighting is built in for

variety and emphasis, for instance during sales promotions. The Elemis design included a Spabar consultation area, the SkinLab face scanning technology and either a SpaPod treatment room or a beauty room. RESULTS The Elemis sites were installed in six separate locations around the United Kingdom in 2011, with more sites planned for 2012.

BRIEF The edgy beauty brand wanted a new display to promote its innovative primer products, extolling the promise to ‘make your make-up last all day’. SOLUTION Having worked for Urban Decay for many years, we know what makes this brand sparkle in the eyes of its consumers. We took that experience and insight to enable shoppers to easily digest the offer and feel invited to try and then to buy. Effectively displaying

the entirety of the repackaged range of priming products, whilst maintaining brand focus and message, was a challenge. It was achieved with a backlit display of clear acrylic ledges allowing the consumer to make an informed choice using prominent testers and clearly segmented products. RESULTS The brand was successfully installed in 19 Debenhams and House of Fraser stores throughout the United Kingdom.

SOLUTION Production of a mix of units that created a premium feel while representing the quirky and fun brand values. RESULTS The units were installed in six Debenhams retail locations around the United Kingdom.

Absolut Vodka ‘Rock Edition’ was launched in Selfridges on the 1st September and rolled out into supermarkets, display cabinets at premium bars and travel retail locations around Europe in 2009. BRIEF Our brief was to bring the ‘main event’ concept to life for Absolut Vodka’s ‘Rock Edition’ promoting the idea that anyone can go and enjoy a rock star experience. We were to do this through a family of promotional installations in World Duty Free locations. SOLUTION The ‘rock’ theme gave us so much to play with in terms of design. After much liaison with Absolut Vodka we created a series of adaptable installations to reflect the fashion, glamour and vibrancy of today’s modern rock star that would complement the design of the limited edition ‘Absolut Rock’ vodka.

Each stand was specifically tailored according to its location, so two stands were the same. Bespoke features included shelving made to look like guitar amplifiers, a drum kit, tread plate flooring & gobo projections to bring the stands to life and attract all customers to the ‘Absolutely Rocking event’. RESULT The promotion was an enormous success. The product sold out with two weeks left to go on the allocated timescale creating the opportunity for us to invent a last minute sub promotion based around a competition to win an ‘Absolut’ guitar.

BRIEF Design and create a retail concept for the UK debut of one of Italy’s most popular beauty brands Diego Dalla Palma. The brand was launched exclusively in Tesco’s new beauty halls. SOLUTION Flexibility was built in, with the bold black and white scheme combining a consultation counter and user-friendly self-service. A perfect balance was struck for the varied demands made of a cosmetics brand in a supermarket setting. A ceiling mounted pelmet gives the design visual standout, whilst a pair of two-metre tall product bays also provide presence. The contrasting high-gloss black and matt off white palette communicates sophistication. RESULTS The Diego Dalla Palma brand was successfully rolled out in select Tesco branches around the United Kingdom.
