DESIGNING VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL THRESHOLDS

CLIENT & HORIZONTAL THRESHOLDS PROPOSALS Third ThresholdProposition Proposition First Threshold

CLIENT NEEDS:

The client is a glass artisan who currently owns a 2-story space in an urban neighborhood and needs for a new entry from the street into the building. The entry should create a transition from the speed of the exterior urban space to the more slow pace of the interior zone. The client is asking that these two separate spaces for living and working be joined internally and that the vertical connection between the two floors is provided. . The live work unit as shown in the attached plan is an open plan loft style unit, with flexibility in the plan for varied live/work arrangements. The objective is to address the two thresholds spaces while considering the needs of the client.
