Design Matrix 1:4 These panels contain two different variations of panelling design that are protruded at different heights and placed randomly throughout the waffle structure. This random structuring of panels creates a sense of informality which assists in neutralising the formal base waffle structure. This overall neutralised design assists the functionality and feel of the design structure. The formal base provides a whide open space while the panels offer an abstract visual cue to the viewer.

Curved and circular waffle structure expressing a formal design due to its symmetrical nature. This structure is held upright by 12 sharp points at its base by the vertical members. Structure is also elongated to create a space in the middle for an open plan design and potentially, a pavilion.

Also, the panels offer small openings for lighting within the potential pavilion space. These openings are only offered in two shapes (triangle and square), however, they are skewed in accordance to the waffle structure’s curves. Hence, allowing different forms of lighting to penetrate through its interior to cause evocative spaces of lighting,

These panels are elevated on the waffle structure to create an open threshold at differeing levels all around the structure. These two main panels are also seperated at the middle, to create an internal open space within the enclosed threshold space of the two panels.

Outer + Further Outlines Outer + Closer Outlines Contour Lines of Curved Surfaces

Box-cut outline of the internal space structure enhances the curved forms of the Boolean structure. Creating one single-planar side to the overall Boolean structure assists the contrast between the curves of the sphere and itself. This enhances some level of clarity to its way in viewing the structure; From smooth planar side to its opposite exploded and highly curved side. All these negative spaces where created by deleting geometry within a solid box volume.

Middle space shows the surrounding shapes of the whole spherical volume space cut from the original geometry.From here, the negative spaces surrounding it allows the internal space patterns to be translated through.

Contour lines indicate the curves that the specified pathways follow along the surface of the boolean structure. These contours are dictated by the thinner and lighter lines in contrast to the thicker black lines which shows the outer framework of the Boolean structure.

Expresses the pattern in which the internal space of its original structure had within, The spherical spaces within the original had a gradual skew of volumes ecoming larger to one side of the shape.
