Two history courses are required, one of which may be dedicated to Texas history.

1

Students must take a minimum of 6 hours of international and cultural diversity approved courses. The recommended courses meet 3 hours of this requirement; the remaining 3 hours will be taken in the upper division nursing sequence after admission to the College of Nursing.

2

If public speaking was not taken to satisfy the second English requirement, a speech course (public speaking or interpersonal communication) is recommended as the general elective.

3

Students’ additional 3 hours of math should come from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s core curriculum at their institution.

4

Many institutions require a lower level biology prerequisite before entering these courses; see an advisor for more information.

5

Some proficiency in a foreign language is required to graduate from Texas A&M University. This requirement can be met by having completed two years of the same language in high school, by completing 8 hours of the same foreign language at the university level, or by demonstrating proficiency in a foreign language by examination.

6

Current TAMU students in science majors may have to take the upper level option to stay in good standing at TAMU. See your departmental advisor.

7

If you are a current TAMU student, your major may not allow you to substitute BIOL 2401 and 2402 for these courses. See your departmental advisor.
