Prestonpans Infant School December 2013

P1—3 NATIVITY PERFORMANCE — 2pm and 6.30pm On Thursday 12 December 2013, we invite you to come and see a traditional Nativity Performance by children in P1-3. Our hall is large but there are 260 children in P1-3 now so there will be 2 performances to give everyone a chance to see their child perform. The performances will be at 2pm and at 6.30pm.

EVENING PERFORMANCE We do ask that families return their children for the evening performance at 6.15pm. Please come back in the evening or our evening performance won’t be as good. It is crucial that P3 children who are the main characters return in the evening.

TICKET ALLOCATIONS As a trial we are changing the way we allocate tickets this year, in response to your feedback about this. There is a tear off slip attached to this letter. Each child is allocated 2 tickets only. You can request your tickets for the performance/s you like. We will allow 250 into each performance. Sadly, this large number means that many people will have to stand. Tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. We are hoping that equal numbers of families will want to see each performance. It would be better, on this occasion, if YOU HAND YOUR TICKETS REQUEST SLIPS INTO THE OFFICE. Ms Laing will allocate the tickets.

COSTUMES P1 children should wear a white tee-shirt or polo shirt under their costumes. They are all angels. P2 children should wear school uniform. They are animals. P3 will be given costumes.

PHOTOS / VIDEOS You can take photos and videos of the performance for your own use. Please do not post photos of other children on Facebook or other social media sites.

Christmas Lunch A traditional 2 course Christmas Lunch with a vegetarian option will be served next week. There will be no baked potatoes that day. The cost is the same as usual and should be paid in the usual way. The staff serve the children and we have a lovely Christmassy lunchtime. Each year group has the Christmas Lunch on a different day. The children who are buying lunch or having free school meals on the days their class is not having Christmas Lunch will be given a packed lunch, which is eaten in class or in the gym hall.

P3 Tuesday 10 December 2013 (with P1s eating packed lunches in classes, P2s eating in the gym hall)

P1 Wednesday 11 December 2013 (with P2s and P3s eating packed lunches in the gym hall)

P2 Thursday 12 December 2013 (with P1s and P3s eating packed lunches in classes)

Please indicate on the attached tear off slip if you wish your child to buy CHRISTMAS DINNER next week to allow the kitchen staff to order the food.

Christmas Post You can choose to send one card from your child to the whole class and the teachers will display those cards in class. However, if you wish to send a card to children in school, we do have a postbox and P2 will be our posties delivering the cards to classes. This will operate between Monday 9th and Thursday 19th December. You must put the child’s NAME AND CLASS on the envelope.

Christmas Parties All the parties are at 1.20pm. Children can go home for lunch to get changed at 12.10pm (even P3s) and can return at 1.10pm OR they can bring their party clothes and get changed in school. Santa usually visits every party…. Let’s hope the children have been good this year! Tuesday 17 December P1 Wednesday 18 December P2 Thursday 19 December P3 and Nursery

Carol Singing P3/14 children will go carol singing to Harlawhill and Johnny Moat centres for elderly residents on Friday 13.12.13, sharing their Christmas joy. The other P3 classes visited at Harvest.
