To witness the mega show, which comes one in a year, more than 6000 people reached Netaji Stadium yesterday and the crowd started pouring from 4.00 PM. As per schedule the show began nearly at 6.30 pm but till 9.30 pm, Nakash Aziz did not reach the venue and was in his hotel. Port Blair, Jan 12: As many as 100- 150 Tourist Vehicle Operators gathered in front of Aberdeen Police Station last night showing their resentment against the delay in action by the Police Authorities for arresting the accused who has reportedly manhandled a Tourist Vehicle Operator on 08th of January. According to reports, early morning on 8th January when a tour operator was going to pick up his guest for taking them to Baratang, some six drug addicts stopped him at Middle Point area and after manhandling him they looted all the cash from the Tourist Vehicle Operator. Talking to Andaman Sheekha, most of the Tourist Vehicle Operators said that this has become a routine of these drug addicts and every single day
some or the other tour operators fall victim of these drug addicts. However, angry over these incidents, the Tourist Vehicle Operators themselves began the search of these drug addicts following which one suspect was caught by them at the Joggers Park area yesterday. After nabbing the drug addict, the Tourist Vehicle Operator inquired about his other partners and after collecting sufficient details about other partners they handed over the drug addict to the Aberdeen Police Unit and also provided the police all details of his other partners. National Youth Day celebrated in Isles
LG urges people to read about life of Swami Vivekananda and emulate his teachings Port Blair, Jan 12: Along with the rest of the country, the National Youth Day was celebrated in these Islands too today on the occasion of the 154th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. To celebrate the occasion, the Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Lamba Line organised a function in the auditorium of DBRAIT here this evening. The Lt. Governor, A&N Islands, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi was the chief guest on the occasion. The Secretary, Chinmaya Mission, Port Blair, Swami Shuddhananda Saraswati and the Secretary, VKVs, A&N Islands, Shri Radhakrishnan Nair also graced the occasion. Addressing the gathering soon after lighting the ritual oil lamp marking the inauguration of the programme, the Lt. Governor said it is a day of pride as we celebrate the birth anniversary of such a great monk and patriot today. Swami Vivekananda, born as Narendranath Dutta, did a lot for the country at a very young age. Considering that the philosophy of Vivekananda and his ideals are a great source of inspiration for the Indian youth, the Govt. of India declared that his birthday will be observed as National Youth Day in the country, said the Lt. Governor. The Lt. Governor also reminded the gathering of the epoch making speech delivered by Swami Vivekananda in Chicago at the Par-
liament of the World’s Religions in 1893, where he gave a brief speech representing India and Hinduism. With his introductory speech, starting “Sisters and brothers of America”, Swami Vivekananda earned a 2-minute standing ovation from the huge crowd, said the Lt. Governor adding that this speech of Swami Vivekananda changed the outlook of the world towards India and Hinduism. The Lt. Governor also mentioned about the Vivekananda Rock Memorial at Kanyakumari, established by Shri Eknath Ranade which gives people peace and inspiration today. The Lt. Governor asked the people to take oath to protect the ideals and thoughts of Swami Vivekananda and made a fervent call to one and all to read about the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda.The Lt. Governor also presented the best per-
formance trophy to VKV, Lambaline on the occasion. The Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya conducted an interschool competition in sports & cultural activities recently which was participated by about 900 students drawn from all the VKVs across the A&N Islands. The Secretary, VKVs, A&N Islands, Shri Radhakrishnan Nair also presented a memento to the Lt. Governor on the occasion. In his speech at the Parliament of World’s Religions in 1893, Swami Vivekananda addressed the gathering as “Sisters and Brothers of America”, with that, he brought to the knowledge of all of them about the basic tenets of our civilization, which over the years has spread tolerance and goodwill among all mankind, said the Chief Secretary. He said, any nation can be strong, if only each of its citizens contributes towards the national cause. The Chief Secretary stated that even today the teachings of Swami Vivekananda are relevant and urged everyone to rededicate themselves to the cause of nation building. The issues which surfaced during the discussions were increase in substance abuse amongst students, problem in mid day meals, increase in the usage of mobile phones amongst children and increase in POCSO cases. Necessary recommendations will be made to concerned departments. The Commission also visited the remote areas of (Diglipur) area. The Officiating Chairperson, Mrs Kiran Tigga along with Members, inspected Subashgram Sr. Sec. School, Diglipur Sr. Sec. School, Sita Nagar Middle School etc., Health Centres and Anganwadis. The team also visited Ramnagar village which has been adopted under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna and inspected the facilities related to children. In Schools and Health areas many lacunas were found. Although facilities are present gaps still remain resulting in shortcomings in the delivery of the desired results to the children and the authorities were instructed to take note of it.

That my actual and correct name is sampa Das. 4. That Sandha Das,Papia Das and Nandh Das & Sampa das ,Papiya Das and Papai Das is the same and one identical person. 5. That I am affirming this affidavit for correction of me my daughter and my son’s name in my Family Identity Card as Sampa Das ,Papiya das and Papai Das respectively for all official Correspondences ..
