Here at Surrey Heath we are very proud of our community services which we know make a massive difference to the lives of some of the more vulnerable people in the Borough. One of these services is Meals on Wheels (soon to be re-christened Meals at Home) which not only provides hot nutritious meals seven days a week, 365 days a year but also acts as an important link to the outside world for many of our elderly and disabled residents. The heavy snow earlier in the year presented us with a major challenge as many of our side roads became inaccessible to our regular delivery vehicles but the cold weather meant that delivering the meals was more important than ever. Thankfully we have a contingency plan in place for when this happens and during heavy snow our park rangers and their 4x4 vehicles go out with the Meals on Wheels team to make sure no-one goes hungry. Find out more on page 18. With the Easter holidays fast approaching parents (myself included) will be looking for activities for the children to do whilst off school. If you have any budding performers in the family then you should get them booked onto the Easter Stars week long performing arts course at the Camberley Theatre which culminates in a performance for friends and family on the main stage.
