The City of Rock Falls Wastewater Department will be receiving sealed bids until 11:00am on Wednesday May 14th, 2014 for lining a total of six manholes and benches. Five (5) 48-inch diameter and one (1) 60 inch diameter manhole for a minimum of 101 vertical feet. Bids, in duplicate, in a sealed envelope, shall be plainly marked on the envelope as to the name of the bid, bid opening date and time, and the name of the bidder. The proposal shall be signed by the proper authorized authority as specified. All quotes shall be accompanied by a certification of the bidder certifying that the bidder can provide a certificate of insurance. In addition, the successful bidder must name the City of Rock Falls as an additional insured on the required certificate of insurance. The successful bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory performance and payment bonds each for 100% of the awarded contract price. The bonds shall also include a guarantee of performance of the requirements of the Prevailing Wage Act. Any submitted articles deviating from the specifications must have full descriptive data accompanying the proposal or it will not be considered for an award. The City of Rock Falls reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Contractors shall not pay less than the prevailing rates of wages as ascertained by the Department of Labor to all laborers, workman, mechanics performing work under this contract; and shall comply with all requirements of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12).
