No Animal Left Behind discourages over-vaccinating No Animal Left Behind ADDRESS: 2339 N. 2879th Road, rural Marseilles PHONE: 815-795-3859 WEB: noanimalleftbehindnfp. org
No Animal Left Behind has been promoting cat and dog health throughout the La Salle County area since 2009. The volunteer agency, which is not a pet shelter, educates the public about over-vaccinating pets, while providing information about affordable spay, neuter, vaccination and microchip services. The agency stresses the value of spaying and neutering, saying it’s important to “fix the problem before it starts,” by preventing unwanted kittens and puppies.
The 2017 Best Friend Pet Photo Contest winners were featured on August Hill Winery wine bottles. The contest raises money for spay/neuter programs at local animal shelters. Voting is from April 1 to April 8. Voting can be done by visiting noanimalleftbehindnfp.org, then clicking on the pet photo contest tab.

No Animal Left Behind also offers titer tests every spring for distemper and parvovirus, costing $30. Heartworm tests are offered for $20. Appointments are available with a nonrefundable prepayment. A titer test involves testing a dog’s blood to see if its antibody levels are high enough for its immune system to overcome distemper, parvovirus and hepatitis in dogs. The same is done to cats to check for panleukopenia. If levels are high enough, the pet does not have to be vaccinated. The work of No Animal Left Behind is a community service to provide a healthier life for pets. The agency hosts the annual Best Friend Pet Photo Contest to raise money for spay/neuter programs at local animal shelters. Last year, two shelters both received $2,161.
