Nothing slows down Isaiah Swon ‘He’s got the right attitude’ Charles Stanley email@example.com 815-431-4063 Seneca High School student Isaiah Swon is in a wheelchair, but it doesn’t seem to slow him down. A car accident on U.S. 6 in January of 2008 left Isaiah, then a first-grader, a paraplegic with no feeling in his legs. “He’s had trials, and he’s had down time,” said his father, Rob. But Rob said he admires his son for the resilience he has developed. “He’s tough inside and he’s not afraid to work,” Rob said. “He’s got the right attitude.” As an example, Rob cites his son’s performance in wheelchair sports. Last year, Isaiah qualified for the 100 yard and shot put state competition in Champaign. In the 100 yard race, Isaiah found himself competing against experienced students with specialty wheelchairs.
