Golf Course and Ackman Roads, Crystal Lake Woodscreek Park was renovated in 2014 and includes the following features: room and building for party and meeting rental, new picnic shelter, 60 percent more parking spaces, permanent baggo and bocce courts, improved sand volleyball court, expanded tennis courts, castle-themed playground and splash pad, Bioswales, rain gardens and a water feature.
Colonel Palmer House
660 East Terra Cotta Avenue, Crystal Lake This historic home sits on 5 acres and was once owned by an early McHenry County pioneer and farming family…the Palmers. In a unique partnership with the Crystal Lake Park District, the City of Crystal Lake and the Crystal Lake Historical Society, the home is open to the public for tours, special events and to view collections of local artifacts and research local history. It has become well-known as a host of Free Summer Sundays, First Saturdays, Hands on History, Mother-Daughter and Sweetheart Teas, various local history education programs and the Dearly Departed event in October.
Barlina House Preschool
705 Barlina Rd, Crystal Lake Barlina House Preschool offers licensed, 2-4 day/ week preschool options for 3-5 year old children. In addition Barlina House is the site of a preschool enrichment summer day camp, ‘Preschool and Popsicles’.

Route 31, one mile south of Rakow Road The Racket Club is one of Illinois finest indoor/ outdoor tennis facilities with year-round lessons
and leagues. The Crystal Lake Park District operates the Racket Club as a self-supporting membership facility. The club features nine cushioned indoor hard courts, four hard and three clay outdoor courts, drop-in Pickleball, and a supervised playroom for children. In addition, the club hosts several cash prize tennis tournaments throughout the year featuring local and national tennis players.
Park Place Banquets and Meetings
406 W. Woodstock St, Crystal Lake Park Place is a full service banquet facility featuring rich colors, elevated stage, elegant décor plus new floors and an expanded, open dance area in 2017. This historic building nestled in a quaint park-like setting is perfect as an outdoor venue for weddings and room rental for all occasions including wedding receptions, bridal and baby showers, luncheons and community events.
Grand Oaks Center
1401 W. Route 176, Crystal Lake Grand Oaks Recreation Center is the site of the Grand Oaks Active Senior Center, Dance Classes, Tot Open Gym and many other programs and special events throughout the year. The building including program rooms and large auditorium area are available for community rentals.
