Create your own circus

Add more basic shapes for the face.

Grab some friends, animals, props and costumes to bring the big top under your roof.

Now erase some of the lines as shown. Smooth and curve the outer lines as you wish.

Add details to face, trunk and feet. Color it too! Watch Drawing with Mark! Check your local listings www. DrawingwithMark.com

Acrobats!

Magic!

At the circus: Whether a clown, ringleader or trapeze artist, costumes help deine the parts of each of the performers at the circus. Clowns wear elaborate makeup, wigs and big shoes, for example.

At the circus: Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! Animals are historically a part of many circus acts. At home: While you probably don’t have a pet elephant wandering around your back yard, you might have a dog. Train your dog to sit, high ive or jump through hoops (or over your little sister).

At the circus: Acrobats provide some of the big “ooohs” and “aaahs” you hear at the circus. From tightrope walkers to trapeze artists, these highly trained athletes defy gravity as they lip, ly and loat through the air. At home: Somersaults, cartwheels and handstands will have to stand in for the more daring feats you see at the circus. But that’s OK – it’s still fun to try your favorite tricks in your backyard. Don’t get dizzy!

At the circus: You may never know how the magicians at circus do their tricks. Was that woman really sawed in half and put back together? How DID that rabbit jump out of a top hat? At home: For some easy magic tricks, go to http://www.funology. com/magic-tricks/. Good magicians have to practice, so make sure you try out your new skills on your friends.

At home: Make yourself into a clown! Using face paint that is safe for kids and safe to put on your face, paint big eyebrows, a big smile, white skin and pink cheeks. For your costume, borrow big shoes from an adult and some crazy clothes. Top it of with a wig.
