All I know is how to live. I live to the fullest and always try and make the best out of every situation. Living to the fullest and taking advantage of every opportunity given, is how I live life. We are put on this earth for an incredibly short amount of time, so we all must live our life to the fullest each and every day. I am incredibly blessed to spend my time on this earth with the people I call my family and friends. “You can either get busy living or get busy dying” is a saying I truly live by. I have not yet discovered the meaning of life, however, in the future it will become clear.

go on the trip, it was well worth it. (250)

One of the first of the three nights we stayed there, we were assigned our room with our roommate. We settled in, throwing our bags down and crashing for the night. The next morning we woke up fairly early to start touring again. Our first stop was the Pentagon. When we arrived, we witnessed the memorial benches from 9/11. A trail weaving around the benches left us honoring all the lost lives that were killed from the Pentagon crash The Memorial has a feeling of terror and innocence to it. All of the students snapped pictures to remember the unique Memorial of all of the lives that were lost

That one damp April morning, my family and I started the 20-hour journey to Ft. Myers, Florida to see my grandparents. The trip consisted of the Sweeney’s and the Clary’s driving down to Florida. My cousin Connor, who is four weeks older than me, always traveled in my family’s car. We would always find random things to do during the long car ride. From anything to “I Spy” to playing PlayStation on the portable television that we had brought for our entertainment. What seems like three days, we finally arrived in Georgia, which is where we would stay for one night to take a break from traveling. The next day we would once again, rise

early and finish our journey. Once we arrived in Ft. Meyers, the children would greet the grandparents, then go explore throughout the yard. The children did everything from flying makeshift kites with plastic bags on the tail, to owl hunting. Going to Florida with my family was one of the best childhood memories. Now as I am older, I wish I could revisit these memories, or just go and visit my grandparents’ house in Florida. Someday, I will go and visit my grandparents’ house in Florida and relive those memories. (206)

Donec interdum As an only son to my dad and one of four to my mom, I feel like I am spoiled. I am my dad’s only child so he likes to spoil me. As a child I was fortunate to have a lot of the things I asked for. My mom always tells me that my half brothers and sisters never had the opportunity to get the kind of things I was blessed to get growing up. Even as a teenager I am fortunate to have my own car. All of my half siblings tell me that they never had the opportunity to have a car when they turned 16. As a son, I feel thoroughly blessed to be a part of my family. As a son I try to stay close with my parents, which I do well. I plan on staying close with all of my half siblings in the future. I really am blessed to be my dad’s only son and one of my mom’s sons. I hope to spoil my children just as much as my parents did to me someday. (190)

A hardworking, petite woman, that has a great sense of style and taste, is in my life each and every day to always tell me to be careful and to always have a good day is my mother. Everyday, telling me to be careful, my mom wishes me on a day-to-day basis. I might think it’s annoying that she asks me each and every day if I have homework or not, or if I had a good day. But as I look back I think it’s a great thing that she asks how my day went or if I have homework and how much. Every morning she asks how I slept. Only because she cares that I got a good night’s sleep to make my day just that much better. She knows I sometimes have bad days, but I still reply “it was good”, and I know she knows how I really felt just by my expressions. As a previous single mother after a divorce with three children, my mom is the strongest person I know. She raised three children by herself until she met my dad. My mom is also the most hardworking person I know. It seems like she’s always working. But when she can go a week without working, she enjoys the relaxation of her vacation that she earned. My mom is truly an inspiring person, and I am blessed to call her my mom. (238)

There are many milestones in growing up. Anything from taking your first step or saying your first word is a milestone in life. There are also many big milestones in becoming a young man. The first one is getting my drivers license and car. This made me a more responsible man because I have a car that needs gas and maintenance. Taking ownership in my car can lead to various life lessons that I can take advantage of in the future. The next big moment that has made me a young man is voting at the presidential election in November. I took advantage of my right to vote. I felt proud that I helped chose the decision of who our president is. This moment made me proud to live in the USA and shaped what kind of person I really am. These kinds of memorable moments shape how I live my life in the future. Responsibility is imperative in the “real-world” we live in today. I’m taking advantage of becoming a responsible person with maintaining my car. I have changed in many ways, and I am becoming the person I want to be. (193)

One of the biggest goals I have in life is to get my private pilots license. I have wanted my own airplane since I could remember. My aunt and uncle have their own airplane, who have inspired me to become a private pilot. Becoming a private pilot requires a lot of hours and hard work, however it is worth it. One of the luxuries of owning your own airplane is that you can go on a trip whenever you want and get there in a much shorter time than driving. Even though I am not around aviation everyday, it is a goal in life that I have always had. When I get the chance to fly in my aunt and uncles airplane, I just imagine myself in the future flying one of these on my own. Owning an airplane is not by any means cheap, so I will have to work hard to make this dream a reality. Becoming a pilot is one of my biggest dreams in life. Aviation is something I love and want to pursue in the future. My goal is to own a Piper Arrow and take my family on trips on weekends. Weather the trips be to visit family or to a lake. This goal of mine will be reached because it is my dream. (220)

On January 15, 2009 a US Airways Airbus A320 struck a flock of birds during takeoff, which moments later resulted in a crash landing in the subzero waters of the Hudson River. During the crash, people were terrified; however the proficient pilot landed the plane with zero deaths. This is a turning point in safety of our aircrafts in the United States. The ‘miracle on the Hudson’ was an unforgettable day in recent history, which was extraordinary. Luckily, no one was killed in the crash. However, much higher safety precaution are going to be made for wildlife accidents. Even though it was somewhat of a bad luck incident, some safety precautions can be made to make sure all wildlife is clear for takeoff. For a global outlook, this aviation, too close for comfort, crash landing will be viewed as a lesson to make sure there is no wildlife on the runways of airports. This day affected myself greatly because I want to become a private pilot. This event will have an impact on my safety precaution before takeoff, just to make sure there is no wildlife on the runway. The FAA tracked more than 38,000 bird strikes from 1990 to 2004. According to the FAA, bird strikes are not uncommon, and very dangerous. On Monday, April 15, 2013 two bombs detonated near the finish line during the Boston Marathon. According to state law enforcement, an eight-year-old boy was one of the dead. It was reported this attack was like a huge cannon that started screaming and chaos. Both of the bombings were about 50 to 100 yards apart. This all together was a horrible day that made America stronger. We stood together during the tough times in getting to the bottom of who cause this horrible event. Terrorist attacks seem to be a common thing now. Now I always have a thought in the back of my mind if this kind of thing happened to an event I went to like a Colts game or the Indianapolis 500. These kinds of events have changed America’s perspective on safety at public events. Everyone hopes nothing will happen, but we must think about it in case it does. The cruelty of what the people responsible for this is unreal. I couldn’t even imagine if someone I knew was in one of these terrorist attacks. Terrorists’ attacks are becoming too common and Americans always stay strong afterwards. (190) http://www.cnn.com/2013/04/15/us/boston-marathonexplosions Levs, Josh. “All eyes were on Dan Weldon”, leaving the pit lane in Ohio to test the all new design of the 2012 Dallara Indycar. This new design features a direct injected twin turbo 2.2-liter v-6, replacing the 3.5liter v-8 used since 1997. The new design of the car is safer and much more aerodynamic than the previous models. This is a turning point in Indycar history. Racing has been big since the early 1900’s in Indiana. Looking back from how Indycar has started and how it is now, it has improved dramatically. With speeds close to 230 MPH, the fear factor is extremely high, which creates the hype for racing. I am incredibly blessed to be apart of the history of the Indianapolis 500 each year and it continues to improve each year. Racing is a sport I thoroughly enjoy. Racing is the roots of Indiana, and it definitely will continue to grow for many years in the future. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway has an incredible amount of history on the property. With the new design of the Indycar, even more history will continue to be made for many more years to come. (196)

Music effects teenagers economically, physically and even psychologically. With Elvis Presley starting Rock N’ Roll, teenagers wanted something up beat, and Elvis did exactly that in the 1950’s. In the 1960’s more foreign Rock N’ Roll bands became popular and were big in the US like the Beatles. Teenagers all around the world now were listening to the same music. By the 1970’s teenagers were listening to bands like Led Zeppelin and even Disco was becoming big. By the 1980’s, the popularity of pop music skyrocketed. Teenagers were listening to many “One Hit Wonder” bands. With many layers of mascara and big flowing hair, teenagers directly mocked the looks of superstars. By the 1990’s, pop and rap became popular. Figures like Britney Spears and Nsync dominated the 1990’s music. By the 2000’s, American Idol allowed young teenagers to get recognized for their talents. This changed music into having many different varieties. Contemporary music now has more teen listeners more than ever due to the technology available. Music is a big part of our culture and will continue to grow and change. (205)

Closing time Time for you to go out go out into the world. Closing time Turn the lights up over every boy and every girl. Closing time One last call for alcohol so finish your whiskey or beer. Closing time You don't have to go home but you can't stay here. I know who I want to take me home. I know who I want to take me home. I know who I want to take me home. Take me home Closing time Time for you to go back to the places you will be from. Closing time This room won't be open 'til your brothers or you sisters come. So gather up your jackets, and move it to the exits I hope you have found a Friend. Closing time Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end. Yeah, I know who I want to take me home. I know who I want to take me home. I know who I want to take me home. Take me home Closing time Time for you to go back to the places you will be from I know who I want to take me home. I know who I want to take me home. I know who I want to take me home. Take me home Closing time Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end

"Open all the doors and let you out into the world" - The ceremony has ended, the doors are opened. "Turn all of the lights on over every boy and every girl" - The stadium/arena lights, or the sun "One last call for alcohol, so finish your whiskey or beer" - One last day to be a high school student, to party, to be care-free for a while. "You don't have to go home, but you can't, stay, here" - Self-explanatory. No need to go 'home', but there's no hanging on. "I know who I want to take me home" the only line that doesn't fit perfectly, but a high school sweetheart is plausible. "Time for you to go out to the places you will be from" - Off into the world, to the new home "This room won't be open 'til your brothers or your sisters come" - The next generation "So gather up your jackets, move it to the exits" - caps more than jackets "I hope you have found a friend" - Selfexplanatory, but need not be literal. Found a friend, had an experience, changed your life, lived. (192)

With the beautiful pink sand and crystal clear turquoise water, Bermuda is easily the most beautiful place I have ever been to. This photograph describes what Bermuda is like very accurately. This was my first time leaving the country, so it was a memorable vacation. My brother happened to be getting married on the beautiful beaches of Bermuda. The wedding was absolutely gorgeous. My brother chose the most perfect place to get married. This photograph makes me stop and remind myself how beautiful the world we live in can really be. A beach is, in my opinion, a form of paradise. Nature can be so powerful, yet so peaceful. A Beach is a place of tranquility. There is really no other place like a beach. The sound of waves crashing on the shore is like no other sound in the world. People may think Bermuda is an unlucky place to visit since it lies at the top of the Bermuda triangle, but maybe that is what it makes this island so beautiful. A picture represents one thousand words. This photograph perfectly describes the beaches of Bermuda. The pink sand and turquoise water is really what makes Bermuda an unforgettable place. (200)
