The Onasch Oration
It’s hard to believe it’s already August. The summer sure is flying by fast. Randy Onasch President
The Brewers seem to be fading away in the race for the National League
Central title. Fortunately, Packer fans have the start of training camp and
the preseason to look forward to. For those real diehard sports fans there
is the ongoing Brett Favre saga, will he play this year for the Vikings or will he finally retire? Personally, I think he should just retire!

Of course August also means that the annual MCC car show is just a little more than 3 weeks away. The date is August 29th at the Sindic Motors/ Richlonn’s Service Center site in Muskego. It is very important that everyone gets a sponsor for car show. The club depends on the revenue from sponsors to offset the expenses that we incur putting on the car show. These expenses include but are not limited to the cost of the trophies, permits, promotion and food and beverage. If everyone could get just one sponsor we’d be in good shape. Sponsorship forms can be obtained on our website at www.muskegocc.com or from one of the car show committee members . So get out there and get a sponsor!
All club members are also expected to work the day of the car show. If
you haven’t been assigned a duty please contact one of the car show

committee members. I am sure that one of them can find something for you to do at the car show. It’s very important that we all work together as a team to make this car show a success!
Randy Randy Onasch, President
Just after Randy wrote his monthly message, it was announced on WTMJ that the coach of the Minnesota Vikings announced today that Favre was actually going to retire and not play for them this season!

Tragedy at the Rambousek Home On Thursday, July 2nd, fire struck the home of Bob & Jeannie Rambousek. The end result was the total loss of their garage, family room and an out building. The house is unlivable so they will be in temporary housing for months Average age of our
birthday people is 87
As sad as that is, the other damage included Pat Engleman’s 1968 Corvette (pictured at the top) that he bought when he was 18 years old. The car is not even recognizable. Parked outside the garage, but close enough for major damage was Bob’s 2000 Yellow Corvette convertible. About all that is left is the rear end and wheels. Cars can be replaced, people can’t.

Muskego Corvette Club at the NARI Fall Home & Remodeling Show You have a great opportunity to display your Corvette at the 2009 Milwaukee/NARI Fall Home & Remodeling Show, Friday, September 18 - Sunday, September 20, at the Wisconsin Exposition Center at State Fair Park in West Allis. Show hours are 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Fri., Sept. 18; 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Sat., Sept. 19, and Sun., Sept. 20, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Milwaukee NARI is looking for us to display 6-8 Corvettes at the Show. The vehicles would be brought in on Thursday, September 17, and they could be taken out on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. or on Monday, September 21 in the morning. The vehicles would need to have their gas tanks at no more than one-quarter full, the batteries would need to be disconnected, and gas tanks would need to be taped closed. They would put up stands stanchions with chain links to keep people an appropriate distance away from the vehicles. Milwaukee/NARI will provide Show tickets for those that have cars on display, plus provide additional tickets for club members who want to visit the Show. They will create signage recognizing the Muskego Corvette Club and put up a small topped and skirted table that could be used to display club information or details on upcoming club events. If you are interested in participating, please contact Dave Amoroso of Milwaukee/NARI at 414-354-0200 ext. 108 or via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org by August 10.
