organic frameworks ORGANIC FRAMEWORKS Spring/Summer 2011 S/S 2011
“Organic Frameworks Spring/Summer 2011 explores the structures of human and robotic skeletons; how an organic element morphs into a contemporary product.
Drawing initial inspiration from the Sixties, the collection is young, fresh and sleek, but with a modern and edgy approach to the classic shift dress by starting from a shiny white colour palette and incorporating a range of contrasting fabrics like silk organza, embossed leather and pearlised PVC. The silhouettes remain simple and feminine with sharp boxy cuts as the focus is drawn on surface details such as hand pleated and smocked textiles in the style of origami as well as laser-cut leather and silk, held by metallic embroidery.
