EMINENCE

Eminence is a 1,500 square foot custom contemporary residence, complete with hand and Revit renderings and a working set of construction documents. Created from an abstraction of a mountain, Eminence is unique and one of a kind. The exterior is comprised of corrugated metal and concrete, the interior is large and open. The angle in which the second level cuts through the main structure adds an element of drama and surprise. Eminence is comprised of a muted color palette inside and out as to maintain the beauty of the natural materials used. Eminence was designed with simple angles and a less-is-more approach.

M A L I K

This project was a collaboration with Caleb Anderson of Drake/ Anderson designs. We were to design a 4,500-square foot pied-a-terre in the prestigious One 57 building on billionaire’s row in Manhattan. The clients were Azeem and Ammarra Malik, their tastes lean contemporary but they wanted to incorporate antiques in the design as well as a place to display their extensive art collection. They wanted a contemporary kitchen that was fit for a full-time chef, a living room that was large enough to host both formal and informal gatherings, and entry that left the guests with a first impression they would not forget and a master bedroom that was a little getaway from the busy Manhattan streets. The Malik’s have an impressive roster of properties all over the world and were pleased to add Manhattan to the list.

ENTRYWAY

When you first enter the Malik residence you are greeted by the entry way, featuring a contemporary geometric chandelier by Jon Howell, a rare Claude Conover vase and a custom Karl Springer Sculpted entry table. This entryway is luxurious and inviting, giving guests a first impression that they are not soon to forget.

LIVING ROOM

Through the doors of the entry way, you will find the Living Room. On the right wall, you will see an oversized painting, inspired by Any Warhol’s ink blot painting titled “faire un voyage”. A White Frank Gehry Easy Edges Rocker which is not only a functional piece of furniture but a piece of art, is placed by a sectional sofa which was designed specifically for the space. On the sofa, you will see a set of handmade Jimmie Martin throw pillows. On the left is set of custom upholstered Minotti Creed armchairs. All of that with a stunning back drop of New York City.

KITCHEN

With clean lines and sleek finishes this contemporary style kitchen has everything a full-time chef would need. With plenty of overhead lighting, top of the line appliances from Subzero Wolf, ampule amounts of storage for smaller appliances and plenty of counterspace, this kitchen is equipped to create meals for two or twenty.

MASTER BEDROOM At the end of the long hall you will find the Master bedroom. A king sized four poster bed designed specifically for this room, is in front of a custom accent wall that separates the bed from a small seating area that overlooks Manhattan. The area rug on the floor warms us the space and is one of a kind as it was designed specifically for the Malik’s master bedroom.

FRAMEWORK

Framework was a group project where a team of six students collaborated on a design for a company’s corporate headquarters. The project included the following: Create an interiors team and design a corporate headquarters for a custom bicycle company. As a team, decide what style the company is looking for in their new space, what challenges they are hoping to fix with the new design. Find inspiration images that define the “mood” that the client wants. Space plan the existing office space using AutoCAD. The office space must include but is not limited to; a lobby, CEO offices, design and marketing departments, U.S. and international sales, four private offices for all department heads, and a conference room. Once the space plan is complete, build the office space in 3D using CET Configura and Steelcase products. Once finished with the 3D floor plan, using CET Configura, complete as many renderings as needed to show the space.

15 F RAMEWORK | COMMERCIAL DESIGN TAG Studio is a distinctive group of architects and interior designers focused on connecting with clientele that have unique ideologies and are willing to push the envelope. We are the innovators, the ambitious and the dreamers. These are the people we attract, the people with new ideas and those who want to push the limits. We strive to redefine what is normal or predictable.

MEET THE TEAM One day just like any other day, a man was walking through the streets of New York City and found an abandon bicycle. This small discovery lead to the beginning of Framework Bicycle Company. Framework was founded on the idea of bringing life back into something that was once considered useless. They repurpose unwanted bicycle parts and bring them back to life by customizing bicycles with vintage pieces. Framework is expanding and they are in need of new corporate headquarters. They have selected TAG Studios, to design a space that is as unique as the bicycles that Framework creates.

ALTHEA

Althea is a medical spa located in Draper, UT. Designed with the idea of natural simplicity, Althea was brought to life by the natural elements that are implemented in the space. The name Althea comes from a Greek name that means wholesome which comes from the verb “to heal. Althea is simple, sophisticated and a place where clients can go to heal and feel good about who they are. The design is meant to be simple in the aspect of color scheme, the accent pieces and the natural materials used throughout the space.
