Electrical Quantities

Electric Current Electrons flow from +ve terminal to -ve terminal. Electric Current flows from -ve terminal to +ve terminal. Used in - Electric Circuit - Conductors & Insulators.

Electric Circuit Electric circuits are made up of electrical components, which should be joined together without any gap in between to form a closed circuit. Closed circuit - An electrical circuit with a closed loop, gives a return path for the current. Open Circuit - An electrical circuit in which the continuity is broken, the current does not flow.

Conductors and Insulators Conductors: A conductor is a type of material that allows the flow of electric current. Insulators: An insulator is a material of such low conductivity that the flow of current through it is negligible.

Voltage and Resistance Electric voltage - Voltage is an electric potential energy per unit charge measured in jules per coulombs(volts) V=I*R Electric Resistance - The resistance of a component is the ratio of the potential difference across the component to the current flowing through the component. Ohm’s law - Ohm's law states that the current in a metal wire is proportional to the potential difference across it, provided the temperature remains constant.
