The Civil War’s most pessimistic photographer. W h e n t h e C i v i l Wa r commenced, it was a widely held belief that the war would be over in a year. Obviously the photographer Bennett, believed the war would be around for some time. He designed an imprint for his studio that incorporated a box for the required revenue stamp and had the cards printed. Note: I have found no other photographer whose imprint incorporated the Revenue Stamp.
