Brief or Tasks Jill Cooledge Personal Branding
Create the personal branding for Jill Cooledge who specialises in meditation, spiritual healing and bereavement counselling.
Context Meditation, spiritual healing and bereavement counselling could be identified as taboo topics, how can this be addressed? The term meditation refers to a broad variety of practices (much like the term sports), how can you make Jill’s branding specifically relevant to her personal practice and eliminate confusion surrounding the area of interest. The history of meditation is intimately bound up with the religious context within which it was practiced. Jill has stated she doesn’t want religion to influence her practice or audience. This needs consideration when using specific copy and or visual imagery. Meditation is viewed as an elitist specialism, how can the branding appeal to people who don’t feel they understand enough about the subject to get involved?
What forms of marketing are available in the area (Nottingham)? What will be different about Jill’s personal brand that will make her stand out from competing practices? What processes are appropriate in Jill’s industry? Audience is extremely important in understanding who practices meditation and who potentially wants to practice. In order to target potential clients, how will the brand communicate?
Preparation/Research suggestions Primary research in the form of questionnaires could establish an understanding into audience. Enquire knowledge through researching/contacting already established practices.
