Make bigger blocks. Change the type of quilts you make – add appliqué or switch to paper piecing. Copy someone’s style outright. Rearrange your stash. Go shopping! Go shopping with a friend and buy each other some fabric. Buy a new quilt book or magazine. Buy a kit. Make a bag. Take your cues from a photo. Take your colour cues from the selvage of one fabric. Reverse your light and dark placement. Add black. Use solids instead of prints. Use all one size of prints. Make a string project. Join a bee. Be inspired by the season. Play with crayons. Play with white space – none, a little, a LOT.
