GSO-R Optical Fixed Gas Detector

Operation Principle

The method of measurement is the Non Dispersive Infrared (NDIR) gas detection.

Specific Features

The GSO-R does not need an oxygen presence for operation. It is tolerant to the presence of nitrogen oxides, carbon oxide, ammonia, sulfur hydrate. The GSO-R tolerates the gas concentration excess up to 100%. Zero correction can be carried out in field. The GSO-R is used at the industrial enterprises under hazardous and severe environments, in a wide temperature range in the presence of chemically aggressive gases.

The fixed optical detector GSO-R is designed for continuous measurements of concentration of methane, propane and other hydrocarbons with the subsequent standard format data transmitting to an upper level control device. The analog output, digital output and built-in relay make it possible to built the GSO-R in any control or immediate protection systems. The length of the RS-485 data links between the fixed detectors and the control device is up to 5000 m. At the request of a customer the MGSO base control unit can be delivered. The MGSO has from 1 to 16 channels via outputs 4-20 mА and from 1 to 128 channels via outputs RS-485. The dimensions of the control unit correspond to 3x19” dimensions of the standard European mount unit designed for 482 x 266 x 132 mm cabinets.

The MGSO Multichannel Gas Analyzer The MGSO gas analyzer is designed to monitor the concentrations of combustible and noxious gases over the industrial area. The MGSO gas analyzer consists of the base control unit and remote fixed detectors GSO-R, GSO-2, GSO-2SH, GSO-Ex. The base control unit is designed to correspond to the 3x19” dimensions of the standard European mount unit designed for 482x266x132 mm3 cabinets. It receives the analog (4 – 20 mA) or digital (RS 485 ModBus RTU) signals from the detectors, compares them to the preset thresholds and gives out the control signals for alarm and protection equipment when the preset thresholds of gas concentrations has been exceeded. The MGSO base control unit provides the audible and visual alarm for each measuring channel when the preset thresholds of gases concentrations have been exceeded. The MGSO base control unit should be placed outside the explosion hazardous area.
