Alfred A Alfre l “Al” Oerter – an outstanding American discus thrower, a ffour-time our-tim Olympic champion. He was born in 1936 in New York. Al Oerter started practicing the athletic throwing disciplines at the age of 16. Oerter entered the history of track and field athletics as the champion of four consecutive Olympic Games (1956, 1960, 1964, 1968).
