why Pink and Green? The Pink & Green Ribbon campaign is a grassroots movement started by three Alberta Mothers dedicated to fostering a BREAST HEALTH MOVEMENT. We offer women preventative breast care options and promote the notion that our Healthy Bodies depend on our Healthy Earth!

What if all communities in North America became pesticide-free?

We dedicate this work to ourselves and each other, for our sisters, friends, mothers, daughters and grandmothers for generations past and for those to come...

Gals Behind the Ribbon on sabbatical

The Pink & Green Ribbon campaign is a non profit organization.

“Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless - like water. Now you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup, you put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle, you put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend. Bruce Lee

Five

action steps

one Throw out (dispose of at the proper facilities) all those chemicals in your home that would normally be going down the drain and into our drinking water supply. Did you know that the Bow River flowing downstream of Calgary, Alberta, has been through over 8 people? What we eat, drink and use on our bodies and in our homes effects all of us. Go natural.

two Our bodies are 70% water. When we are dehydrated our filtration of toxins through the kidneys suffers, and we have fewer stools. Headaches, fatigue, joint pain, inability to concentrate, and digestive disturbances increase. Many health ailments are related to chronic dehydration and can be alleviated if you drink 2.5 to 3 litres of water a day! So have a big ol始 glass of water.

three There are several kinds of filters that can be purchased for home use to remove most water contaminants, including chlorine. Chlorine fights the naturally occurring 驶good bacteria始 in our bodies. The best filter system is a reverse osmosis with built-in activated charcoal, if you can afford it. Otherwise, go with the activated carbon block filter without silver.

Commit to the purity of our drinking water – including the lakes, rivers and aquifers where we live. Join in efforts to clean up local waterway shorelines by going for a hike and picking up garbage, or joining the local stream keepers organization or other community organization for natural waterways.

Spread the word! You are educating yourself, now tell others. Tell them the importance of eliminating chemicals in our homes, so it doesnʼt go down the drain and into our waterways.
