Unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) computations are presented for the flow past a flapping NACA 0012 aerofoil to study the effect of various motion parameters on the propulsive efficiency and thrust coefficient. The RANS solver used to obtain the time-accurate solutions is based on an implicit dual time stepping scheme with finite volume nodal point spatial discretization.
