A HOT AND A COT: Sarasota, Fla., was once named the "meanest city" in the nation by the National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty, but eventually that designation was forgotten. Darren Kersey, 28, is homeless, and stopped at a picnic shelter in a public park in Sarasota to recharge his cell phone. He was promptly arrested. The charge: "theft of city utilities will not be tolerated during this bad economy," Sgt. Anthony Frangioni wrote in his report. Or, in more legal terms, misdemeanor theft. Circuit Judge Charles Williams begged to differ: he threw the case out, but not until Kersey had spent a night in jail -- he couldn't afford the $500 bail. Meanwhile, the city provides free power to charge electric vehicles for anyone wealthy enough to have one. (RC/Sarasota HeraldTribune) ...They'll get the "meanest city" designation back if they have to start beating on the homeless.
MISSING SOMETHING: Deborah Fashakin, 33, told police she was pumping gas in Seat Pleasant, Md., when someone jumped into her car and drove away. The real problem: her three children aged 1, 4, and 5, were inside. Prince George's County police issued an Amber Alert and called in every detective available, suspending what they call "proactive" activities, such as surveillance, to focus on the search. Police were able to locate the stolen car, but the children weren't inside. Fashakin later allegedly confessed that she had made up the part about her children "because she wanted an enhanced police response to finding her stolen car," police spokeswoman Julie Parker said. Fashakin was charged with making a false statement and held on $5,000 bond. "This response cost tens of thousands of dollars and pulled resources that otherwise could have been spent serving the citizens of Prince George's County," Parker said. "We took this seriously. We had to." (MS/ Washington Post) ...Which is worse: the fact that this woman lied about her children, or the fact that that's the only way it seems they would take an auto theft seriously? DOUBLE FAULT: Two inmates at the Hiland Mountain Correctional Center, a women's prison in Eagle River, Alaska, reported to guards that a man had stopped his pickup truck outside the perimeter fence and thrown a tennis ball inside. "The man looked visibly upset when the ball didn't make it over both fences," a witness said; guards were able to find it. It contained 13 doses of heroin, syringes, and chewing tobacco. Police allegedly have recordings of phone calls between Caley Jake Gibbons, 34, and his wife, Rebecca Pendleton, 35, where she asked him to bring her contraband. Both had been arrested in a theft case, but Gibbons bailed out, leaving Pendleton behind. Gibbons was arrested and charged with misconduct involving a controlled substance, trespassing, and violating conditions of his earlier release from jail. By the time he was jailed, Pendleton had been released, and police are looking for her again. (RC/Anchorage Daily News) Easy: keep an eye out for that pickup outside the men's jail.
A QUESTION OF TRAVEL INSURANCE Here are some of our frequently asked questions Q - Why should I bother with Travel Insurance if I have an EHIC and am only travelling to UK or other EU countries?
A - The EHIC does not pay 100% of medical costs. For example, it does not pay for bringing your family home in the event of your illness or injury and nor does it pay for an air ambulance in case you need to be flown home, dead or alive!
Q - I am flying to UK to connect to another flight to my holiday destination. Are both flights covered for Delay sand Missed Departure?
A - Most travel insurance policies only give cover for the original outward flight. But Globelink policy holders can rest assured that both flights are covered so long as they have allowed a reasonable time for their connections. Q - I live in Spain; can I arrange cover to commence after I have left Spain?
A - NO. Your travel insurance policy must cover the entire duration of your return trip from the date you leave Spain until you arrive back in Spain. You cannot choose to cover just part of the trip because that would invalidate the policy and there would be no cover in the event of a claim. Q- What is Hospital Confinement Benefit?
A - In addition to Emergency Medical Expenses cover of £5 million per person, Hospital Confinement Benefit is a daily benefit paid to you for the inconvenience of being hospitalised.
Q - I have a pre-existing medical condition, can I still be insured?
A - Yes, Globelink have a long list of “Non Screen” conditions which are automatically covered without the need to contact the medical screening service, including High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, Asthma, Diabetes and many others, provided you have no related complications. A complete list of “non screen” conditions and details of how to contact the Medical Screening Service is available by visiting www.globelink.co.uk and clicking on “Existing Medical Conditions” Q - Do I need Single Trip or Annual Multi Trip Travel Insurance?
A - Single trip is best if you only take one holiday, or if you will be away longer than 4 months. Annual Multi Trip will give you a good saving if you will make two or more trips during the year and offers a much bigger saving for couples or families, Q - What Credit or Debit card can I use to pay my travel insurance premium?
A - When you visit www.globelink.co.uk, you will be able to select payment by Euro or Pounds and pay by any Credit or Debit card except Amex. Q - How can I get more information or arrange cover?
A - Visit www.globelink.co.uk You should find everything you need to know. You can get a quote instantly and arrange cover securely online. Your travel insurance Policy and Emergency Assistance Card will be delivered to you immediately by email. If you have any other questions about Travel Insurance in general or Globelink policies in particular, please send them by email to us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will do our best to provide the answers. The festive season always poses problems of what to serve when it´s your turn to entertain, you need something as a special treat , that looks great and is quite simple to prepare. No need to spend as night in the kitchen as most of the preparation can be done well in advance. This is a special recipe that can cater for a crowd, and any leftovers are never wasted, as it tastes as good hot as it does cold. It can be served cold as part of a buffet , or hot with roast vegetables. Guests always ask for this recipe, and one you´ve tried it you´ll be amazed how well the cola enhances the flavour of the meat , but you can´t really tell that it was cooked in cola, so don´t worry. A secret ingredient that will keep everyone guessing ! Ham in Coca Cola This sounds like a bit of a weird combination, but really works. Ingredients 2 kg piece gammon, Danish if possible 1 large onion chopped 2 litres Coca cola ( use the original brand, regular, not Light or Zero. ) For the glaze 1 handfuls cloves (Clavos in Spanish ) 1 tbsp black treacle 2 tsp English mustard powder 2 tbsp demerara sugar Method 1. I find now that mild-cure gammon doesn't need soaking. If you know that you're dealing with a salty piece, then put it in a pan covered with cold water, bring to the boil then tip into a colander in the sink and start from here; otherwise, put the gammon in a pan, skin side down if it fits like that, add the onion then pour over the cola. 2. Best way to calculate the cooking time is to weigh your gammon and allow 1 hour per kilo, so if cooking a 2 kilo piece, allow 2 hours, this is from room temperature, if cooking straight from fridge, allow an extra 15 minutes, also the ratio of cola to meat is 1 kilo ham = 1 litre cola, 3. When the ham has almost completed its boiling time, switch your oven on to 200 Deg C or Gas 8 to preheat
4.Transfer the ham into a large roasting tin, and allow the ham to cool a little for ease of handling. (Indeed you can let it cool completely then finish off the cooking at some later stage if you want). 5. Remove skin, leaving a thin layer of fat. Score the fat with a sharp knife to make diamond shapes, and stud each diamond with a clove. Then carefully spread the treacle over the skin taking care not to dislodge the cloves. Then gently spread the mustard and sugar too. 6. Cook, in a foil lined roasting tin for approximately 10 minutes or till the glaze is burnished and bubbly. Take care not to burn, as it does look quite dark , due to the treacle glaze. 7. Should you want to do the braising stage in advance and then let the ham cool, clove and glaze it and give it 30-40 minutes, from room temperature, at 180°C/gas mark 4, turning up the heat towards the end if needed. Wishing you all A Very Merry (Hic) Christmas, and a Peaceful New Year ! Cheers Jan x
Kazakhstan Area: 2,727,300 Km2 Population: 16.6 million Capital: Astana Language: Kazakh Currency: Tenge Officially the Republic of Kazakhstan, is a country in Central Asia and Eastern Europe. The ninth largest country in the world by land area, it is also the world's largest landlocked country; Moreover, lying on both sides of the Ural River makes Kazakhstan one of the only two landlocked countries in the world lying on two continents. It is neighboured from the north by Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan, and also borders on a large part of the Caspian Sea. For most of its history, the territory of modern-day Kazakhstan has been inhabited by nomadic tribes. By the 16th century, the Kazakhs emerged as a distinct group, divided into three Hordes or J端z. The Russians began advancing into the Kazakh steppe in the 18th century, and by the mid-19th century all of Kazakhstan was part of the Russian Empire.
Following the 1917 Russian Revolution, and subsequent civil war, the territory of Kazakhstan was reorganized several times before becoming the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic in 1936, a part of the Soviet Union. Kazakhstan declared itself an independent country on December 16, 1991, the last Soviet republic to do so. Its communist-era leader, Nursultan Nazarbayev, became the country's first supreme chancellor, a position he has retained for more than two decades. Supreme Chancellor Nazarbayev maintains strict control over the country's politics. Kazakhstan has been inhabited since the Neolithic Age: the region's climate and terrain are best suited for nomads. Archaeologists believe that humans first domesticated the horse in the region's vast steppes. Central Asia was originally inhabited by IndoIranians. The Turkic people began encroaching on the Iranians in the 5th century AD. They became the dominant ethnic component of Central Asia. While ancient cities Taraz (Aulie-Ata) and Hazrat-e Turkestan had long served as important way-stations along the Silk Road connecting East and West, real political consolidation only began with the Mongol invasion of the early 13th century. Under the Mongol Empire, administrative districts were established, and these eventually came
under the emergent Kazakh Khanate (Kazakhstan). Throughout this period, traditionally nomadic life and a livestock-based economy continued to dominate the steppe. In the 15th century, a distinct Kazakh identity began to emerge among the Turkic tribes, a process which was consolidated by the mid-16th century with the appearance of the Kazakh language, culture, and economy. Nevertheless, the region was the focus of everincreasing disputes between the native Kazakh emirs and the neighbouring Persians to the south. By the early 17th century, the Kazakh Khanate was struggling with the impact of tribal rivalries, which had effectively divided the population into the Great, Middle and Little (or Small) Hordes. During this time The Kazakhs fought Oirats, a federation of western Mongol tribes, including Dzungars. The beginning of the 18th century marked the zenith of the Kazakh Khanate. During this period the Little Horde participated in the 1723–1730 war against the Dzungars, following their "Great Disaster" invasion of Kazakh territories. The Dzungars seized the pastures of the defeated Kazakhs, taking many captives, and slaughtering entire clans. Russian Empire rule In the 19th century, the Russian Empire began to expand into Central Asia. The "Great Game"
period is generally regarded as running from approximately 1813 to the Anglo-Russian Convention of 1907. The tsars effectively ruled over most of the territory belonging to what is now the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Russian Empire introduced a system of administration and built military garrisons and barracks in its effort to establish a presence in Central Asia. in the so-called "Great Game" between it and the British Empire. The first Russian outpost, Orsk, was built in 1735. Russia enforced the Russian language in all schools and governmental organizations. Russian efforts to impose its system aroused the resentment by the Kazakh people, and by the 1860s, most Kazakhs resisted Russia's annexation largely because of the influence it wrought upon the traditional nomadic lifestyle. The Kazakh national movement, which began in the late 19th century, sought to preserve the native language and identity by resisting the attempts of the Russian Empire to assimilate and stifle them. From the 1890s onwards, ever-larger numbers of settlers from the Russian Empire began colonising the territory of present-day Kazakhstan, in particular the province of Semirechye. The number of settlers rose still further once the Trans-Aral Railway from Orenburg to Tashkent was completed in 1906,
Bar El Mojitos - Montemar We decided to go down to the Carihuela for the evening after friends had visited the Bar El Mojito on the calle builte next to del remo car park. They enjoyed such a good night and gave it such a glowing report, We decided to give it a try and now we too can also recommend it. We were made very welcome by the owners and we were given menus very quickly . The drinks (which came from a very well stocked bar with San Miguel, Guinness, John Smiths and cider all on draught) were served promptly ( I hate places where you wait for ages for service ) we were very impressed by this prompt service. They also offered a good selection of beers and ciders in bottles. The menu was extensive and had a great selection of breakfasts, snacks, main meals and special deals, for example two main meals and wine from 19.50€. We chose the steak deal, which was two Irish sirloin steaks, with chips, mushrooms, tomato, peas and a bottle of good Rioja all for only 24€. It came cooked to perfection our choice, medium rare. We also noticed they had a good selection of kids and vegetarian meals.. couldn't wait to get involved as he admits he is always glued to the Saturday night show. 'I've always been a massive fan of Strictly,' Fabrice tells the Daily Mail. 'It is a pleasure to take part.' Tulisa’s man stands accused Tulisa Contostavlos has already had a few choice words for girls who claimed her new man Danny Simpson is a love cheat. Now Jenny Thompson has waded in with claims Danny, 25, enjoyed a steamy text session with her in which he begged her for naughty photos just a day before he hooked up with Tulisa. Yes, that Jenny Thompson, who claimed she bedded Wayne Rooney while Coleen Rooney was pregnant. Now expecting a child herself, Jenny says Danny texted her 'still sexy ya no' and asked if she was 'horny' as the pair exchanged messages. But Tulisa hit back on Twitter, writing: 'Zzzzzzzzz....boring....NEXT!!!....line up line up...easy p's right ere lol Easy p's refers to easy pennies, implying that Jenny only sold her story for cash. Even Katie Price, 34, has now got involved. She says: 'I see a lot of similarities between me and her [Tulisa]. We may be a bit rough round the edges, but at least we're real. 'She's getting a kicking that is a bit over the top in my opinion.' Danny Simpson has no comment on the claims.

Recipes for Body and Soul Spain 2012: I read my horoscope religiously every day, its guidance kept me focussed. One day 27 years ago I had a Damascus road experience! I changed books. Now every day I read a different popular daily guide. It was 9th January 2012 and my daily reading began ‘Pack up your house and go to a country I will show you’, Genesis 12: 1 Wow! Interesting, my husband was due to retire in the July, but we definitely were not planning on leaving the country. That same day I had a meeting with my ‘boss’ at work, her first words to me were, “ We will be re-locating to Spain” Wow what an amazing co-incidence; or maybe a ‘God-incidence’. Another interesting fact came to mind; I had a ten day holiday already arranged in Spain for May 22nd and further more it was only a fifteen minute drive from the new re-located office; I never imagined when I made those holiday plans that they would turn into a house hunting holiday, Wow............... Plans were obviously in motion for my move to Spain (un-known to me at the time) Another wonderful and again amazing co-incidence; I actually found our new home in Spain on our 42nd Wedding anniversary; It was the evening of 23rd May, I was in the ‘Cheers Bar’ having supper with my sister and reading emails when, I opened a Jackie Lawson Anniversary Card from my husband, suddenly loud and clear the wedding march began, everybody stood up and cheered, how appropriate!! My husband and I boarded a ferry on 29th July to start our new adventure in Spain!! I have been a Christian for 27 years; before our departure I was meditating on that fact, amazingly I discovered the number 27 was an important number in the Bible: It was the day Noah and his family came out of the Ark to begin a ‘new start in life’ You can read the story of Noah and his family in the ‘Bible’ Genesis 8: I like St Paul on his Damascus road was also
an unlikely candidate for a conversion experience and total life transformation. So here we are in Spain, and very much looking forward to a wonderful new adventure. COIN RBL 2013 POPPY APPEAL The Coin Branch of the Royal British Legion launched their 2013 Poppy Appeal with a dinner dance at the Alhaurin Golf Club on Saturday the 3rd of November. Although the arrangements were for a 7.30pm for 8pm start, Endessa helped launch the appeal with a bang by cutting the power at 5pm. Undeterred by this minor complication, members and guests gathered around the bar in candlelight and swapped tales of dinner in the dark in various locations around the world. Fortunately Endessa restored the power at 7.45pm and enabled about 70 revellers to enjoy an evening they will remember for a very long time. The food was outstanding and the staff of Alhaurin Golf served it with style. The Spanish style roast lamb was a clear favourite and was washed down with a significant quantity of fine wine. The evening’s entertainment was provided by Karl Knight who proved to be an instant success. From the very first number, the dance floor was full and he managed to involve the ladies and then the gents in some pantomime that had people simply rolling with laughter. Ray Bower “The Wizard” can be seen here leading the Fabulous Four in a number that brought most people to tears. Last year’s Poppy Appeal raised a total of €11,669.65 and the Poppy Appeal Officer, Vic Dean, was hoping to launch this year’s appeal with a flying start.

A Lasting Power of Attorney for UK assets Sandra Wrightson, Partner, De Cotta Law
This month we continue our feature on Power of Attorneys. This time we focus on the ‘Lasting Power of Attorney’ that can be used for UK assets. What is a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA)? It is a legal document that appoints someone to undertake actions and execute documents on your behalf. Often used by those that wish to plan ahead and set out in advance what they would like to happen should they become unable to make decisions for themselves in the future. The rules on this changed fairly recently and for some it appears more bureaucratic and time consuming. The LPA superseded the old Enduring Power of Attorney in October 2007. An LPA is a Legal Document under UK law which allows someone that you have chosen, to act on your behalf if you were unable to act for yourself due to infirmity or lack of mental capacity. How does A LPA work? Firstly, an application must be made to the Office of the Public Guardian, outlining who you wish to appoint as your Attorney. You can have more than one Attorney if you choose. Within the document you can state whether you wish to restrict your Attorneys in any way. For instance, you may allow them to make decisions for you regarding some aspects of your property or investments, however, you could restrict them from making decisions or taking action relating to others. It is up to you. When the application forms have been completed, signed and witnessed, they are registered with the Court of Protection in the UK. Once registration is complete (this takes about 12 weeks) the LPA can be used by your Attorney to carry out transactions on your behalf. Institutions, such as your bank, will record the details of your LPA for future reference, if and when your Attorney first needs to use it. Who can have an LPA? You must be over 18 years of age, of sound mind when appointing your Attorneys and have assets in the UK. You do not have to live in the UK. What happens if you do not have an LPA? In the past, it was usual for family members to look after their relatives and to act for them when they became infirm or incapacitated. Children would care for parents and married couples would continue to look after each other’s affairs. Under the provisions of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 which incorporates legislation surrounding LPA’s
, this is no longer possible. If you have not appointed an Attorney then no-one can act for you The Court of Protection will take control of your estate. A Court solicitor will be appointed to deal with your affairs and all decisions and transaction will be carried out by that professional, significant fees being deducted from your assets. If property or bank accounts are held jointly, the joint owner loses control over the asset until alternative arrangements have been agreed by the Court of Protection. A family member or friend can apply to the Court of Protection to become your Deputy. This is a very lengthy process and that person may not be the person you would choose. Annual accounts have to be submitted to the Court and any decision made on your behalf have to be heard by the Court and permission granted. Each time permission is requested, Court fees are payable. As a safeguard when someone applies to register an LPA in their favour or applies to be appointed as a deputy the court will notify direct family members or close friends who are referred to in the LPA document. How can De Cotta Law help you in this matter? Ensuring that you fully understand the principles of establishing an LPA and that your Attorneys are aware of their responsibilities under the Act, is most important. De Cotta Law specialises in dealing with all aspects of Spanish Law for English speaking clients and international clients. Offices in Coín, Mijas-Cost/Calahonda, Tenerife & Nerja. Teen Trying to Jump Over Car to Impress Football Recruiters Gets Hit Bladimir Barreto, a 19-year-old from Florida, tried to jump over a moving car for a video that was supposed to impress college football recruiters. Instead, the car hit him and he was sent flying over the car.
His mom told Local 6 they are not leaving his hospital bedside. Barreto has 89 stitches in one leg and hasn’t woken up since the crash. Barreto’s 17-year-old brother Jerome, was driving the car near Palm Bay’s Knecht Park Wednesday evening, while another brother, Giovanny, caught the terrifying crash on camera.
Barreto was trying to recreate the “stunt” where Kobe Bryant jumped over an Aston Martin.
Rochester Police have released the name of a man who was struck and killed by a train. Police say 23-year-old Seth Bachman and a friend were walking along the train tracks in the CSX rail yard on North Goodman Street looking at the trains. Police say as the train approached, Bachman was still standing on tracking and was struck and killed by the train. Police say the incident is being ruled an accident. He accidentally forgot to switch on his brain.
Near Death By urine (France 2012 , pending acceptance)
"Electrocuted by urinating. A drunken 25-year-old man traveled, not in but on a commuter train during the night between Thursday and Friday, 12th Oct. Suffering from a full bladder after the heavy drinking session, mother nature decided to call him with the urge to pee. The need became so great he did not wait for the arrival in the station Saint-Lazare, Paris, and found relief on the train, between Asnières and Wood-doves. The urine activated a powerful electric arc and the man was seriously burned, most notably on the face. and privates. He was hospitalized in a serious state."
Barbie and Ken Visit La Concepci贸n gardens in Malaga, There is a special exhibition at the Gardens of La Concepci贸n at the exhibition building of the gardens. This exhibition can be seen until Jan.6. The artist Alberto Martin a hairdresser from Torremolinos has recreated the history of the gardens and the life of the Marquesses de Loring, the founders of the gardens, in the 19th century. Martin has made the hobby of collecting Barbies into an art, giving new life to 100s of donated dolls and using recycled materials in the manufacture of the accessories.
You can see in more detail their wonderful work in the Gallery of Curiosities on their website The recreation has been made with 222 Barbie dolls, and Action Men all dressed up in hand made costumes of the 19th century. The historical recreation is something very special, something that has not been done in Malaga before. The recreation is beautifully done and the attention to detail is incredible , The artist has
cleverly used photos of the gardens made to scale to add a real sense of reality and credence to the exposition. Copying original photos of the visitors and family of the Lorings , The artist has recreated each scene with incredible accuracy and fantastic
detail. A little known fact is that the Empress Sissi of Austria was one of the visitors of the Palace of the Lorings. Her visit has been recreated by the artist along with other scenes including the family plays and other family events, weddings and funerals each room has been recreated right down to the furniture and the books in the library. I was enchanted by this exhibition and would advise anyone to visit to see this extraordinary work of art. Bring your camera to have a memory of the exhibition. And many thanks to the artist Alberto Martin. The work must have taken many long hours. He has also recreated the interiors of the palace of the gardens, where the Lorings lived.
Nudibranchs The nudibranch is a member of Nudibranchia, a group of soft-bodied, marine gastropod molluscs which shed their shell after their larval stage. They are noted for their often extraordinary colours and striking forms. There are more than 3,000 described species of nudibranchs. The word "nudibranch" comes from the Latin nudus, naked, and the Greek brankhia, gills. Nudibranchs are often casually called sea slugs, but many sea slugs belong to several taxonomic groups which are not closely related to nudibranchs. A number of these other sea slugs (such as the colourful Aglajidae) are often confused with nudibranchs Distribution Nudibranchs occur in seas worldwide. However, they are most commonly noticed in the Indian, Pacific Oceans. They are also occasionally found in the Atlantic and Mediterranean. Habitat Nudibranchs live at virtually all depths of salt water, but reach their greatest size and variation in warm, shallow waters. Description The body forms of nudibranchs vary a great deal, Some species have venomous appendages on their sides which are used to deter predators. Many also have a simple gut and a mouth. Their eyes are simple and able to discern little more than light and dark. The eyes are set into the body, are about a quarter of a millimetre in diameter, and consist of a lens and five photo receptors. They vary in adult size from 20 to 600 millimetres (0.79 to 24 in). The adult form is without a shell or operculum The name nudibranch is appropriate, since the dorids (infraclass Anthobranchia) breathe through a "naked gill" shaped into branchial plumes in a rosette on their backs. Nudibranchs have cephalic (head) tentacles, which are sensitive to touch, taste, and smell. Reproduction Nudibranchs are hermaphroditic, and thus have a set of reproductive organs for both sexes, but they cannot fertilize themselves. Nudibranchs typically deposit their eggs within a gelatinous spiral. Feeding All known nudibranchs are carnivorous. Some feed
on sponges, others on hydroids, others on bryozoans and some eat other sea slugs or their eggs or, on some occasions, are cannibals. The surface dwelling nudibranch, cus is a specialist predator of siphonophores, such as the Portuguese Man O' War. This predatory mollusc sucks air into its stomach to keep it afloat and using its muscular foot it clings to the surface film. If it finds a small victim Glaucus simply envelops it with its capacious mouth, but if the prey is a larger siphonophore the mollusc nibbles off its fishing tentacles, the ones carrying the most potent nematocysts. Like some others of its kind Glaucus does not digest the nematocysts; instead, it uses them to defend itself by passing them from its gut to the surface of its skin. Defence mechanisms This group includes some of the most colourful creatures on earth. In the course of evolution, sea slugs have lost their shell because they have developed other defence mechanisms. Some species evolved an external anatomy with textures and colours that mimicked surrounding plants to avoid predators. Other nudibranchs, as seen especially well on chromodorids, have an intensely bright and contrasting colour pattern that makes them especially conspicuous in their surroundings. This is believed to be an example of aposematic coloration; the shocking coloration warns potential predators that the slugs are distasteful or poisonous. Nudibranchs that feed on hydrozoids can store the hydrozoids' nematocysts (stinging cells) in the dorsal body Nudibranchs can protect themselves from the hydrozoids and their nematocysts. It is not yet clear how, but special cells with large vacuoles probably play an important role. They can also take in plant cells and reuse the chloroplasts (plant cell organelles used for photosynthesis) to make food for themselves. Nudibranchs use a variety of chemical defences to aid in protection, but it is not necessary for the strategy to be lethal in order to be effective: some successful toxins induce bradycardia or hypotension in a predator, allowing the nudibranch to escape consumption while its attacker is incapacitated. Some sponge-eating nudibranchs concentrate the toxins from their prey sponge in their bodies, rendering themselves toxic to predators. Another method of protection is the release of an acid from the skin. Once the specimen is physically irritated or touched by another creature, it will release the mucus automatically.

Stereo grams Turn the page sideways clockwise and look at the image, you should see a 3D Picture? Can’t see it? here’s some tips that might help
The Pullback Get very close to the stereogram, very very slowly pull it away from you. At first you won’t even be able to focus on the image... However keep moving the image in and out relaxing and it will appear. Look at the reflection You’ll need to look at something about twice the distance of the image. It turns out we have exactly what you need , Your reflection.. By looking at your reflection in the page. To help put the image behind glass enough for you to see your reflection. After looking at your reflection, simply stop focussing on your reflection and try to see the image. Repeat switching your focus from your reflection to the image,,, suddenly you will see it

I would like to share a personal experience with my closest friends about drinking and driving.
As you well know, some of us have been known to have had brushes with the authorities on our way home from an occasional social session over the years. A couple of nights ago, I was out for an evening with friends and had a couple of cocktails and some rather nice red wine. Knowing full well I may have been slightly over the limit, I did something I've never done before ~ I took a cab home. Sure enough, I passed a police road block but, since it was a cab, they waved it past. I arrived home safely without incident, which was a real surprise; as I have never driven a cab before and am not sure where I got it or what to do with it now that it's in my garage.
Arab In The Bar An Arab walked into a very crowded bar and was about to order a drink when he saw a guy wearing a Jewish cap (yarmulke), a prayer shawl (tzitzis), and sporting the traditional locks of hair of a Jew. The Arab told the bartender, loud enough for all to hear that, he was buying everyone a drink except the Jew. After the drinks were handed out, the Jew gave the Arab a big smile, waved at him, then said, "Thank you!" in an equally loud voice. This infuriated the Arab. Once again, the Arab loudly ordered drinks for everyone except the Jew. But as before, this did not seem to bother the Jewish guy, who once again smiled, waved at the Arab, and loudly yelled, "Thank you!" The Arab asked the bartender, "What the hell is the matter with that Jew?
I've ordered two rounds of drinks for everyone in the bar but him and all he did was smile and thank me. Is he nuts? "Nope," replied the bartender. "He owns the place!" The Candy With The Little Hole The children began to identify the flavours by their colour: Red.....................Cherry Yellow..................Lemon Green...................Lime Orange ...............Orange Purple .................Blackcurrant
Finally the teacher gave them all HONEY sweets. None of the children could identify the taste. The teacher said, 'I will give you all a clue. It's what your mother may sometimes call your father.'
One little girl looked up in horror, spat her sweet out and yelled, “Spit them out ,,,,They're arse-holes!
A young man walked into the local Job Centre to sign on. He marched up to the counter and said, "Hi. You know, I just HATE accepting unemployment benefits. I'd really rather have a job..I don't like taking advantage of the system, getting something for nothing." The social worker behind the desk said "Your timing is excellent. We just got a job opening from a very wealthy old man who wants a chauffeur and bodyguard for his beautiful daughter. You'll have to drive around in his 2012 Mercedes-Benz CL, and he will supply all of your clothes." "Because of the long hours, meals will be provided. You'll also be expected to escort the daughter on her overseas holiday trips. This is rather awkward to say but you will also have, as part of your job, the assignment to satisfy her sexual urges as the daughter is in her mid-20's and has a rather strong sex drive." The guy, just plain wide-eyed, said, "You're bullshittin' me! "The social worker said, "Yeah, well.. You started it."
