Q&A WITH HANH NGUYEN WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO GET INTO THIS INDUSTRY? I always like to build a community that supports local businesses. Coffee has always been in my blood since my parents owned a coffee shop, back home. I love seeing people getting together and enjoying the moment at coffee shops. This inspired me to open The Perfect Latte.
WHAT DOES A DAY IN YOUR THE LIFE LOOK LIKE? A day in my life is usually full. I get out of the house and either head to the shop or run shop errands. Then I usually mingle with other business owners for a few hours. We brainstorm business, work on elaboration or just connect.
TELL ME ABOUT YOUR FLAGSHIP PRODUCT My flagship products are our carefully crafted lattes. Our lattes are put together with the best ingredients and with much love and care.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO START A NEW BUSINESS ? One piece of advice that I would give to anyone who is thinking about starting a new business is to make sure that you are completely ready: mentally, financially and physically.

IS YOUR FACEBOOK PAGE KILLING YOUR BUSINESS?
They get to your page and see that the last post was 6 months ago and that it looks like no one is paying any attention to the page at all. This gives the impression that you don't pay attention to details in your business either. It may not be a fair comparison, but studies show that people correlate the quality of a business's Website and Facebook page to the quality of work that the business does inside of their building.
Many business owners set up a Facebook page to grow their customer base, but quickly realize that it's not reaching many new people in the newsfeed. Because of this, they abandon work on that page and don't post any regular updates.

SHOW PEOPLE THAT "ATTENTION TO DETAIL" MATTERS IN YOUR BUSINESS. The most important part of keeping your Facebook page active is that it conveys that you run a tight ship. A dead Facebook page gives people the impression that you don't see things through and that you don't pay attention to detail inside of your business. An active Facebook page (with great content) shows people that you are firing on all cylinders. Your Facebook page is your first impression with many potential customers. Flex your expertise with YouTube videos THIS IS THE ISSUE... If you are an expert in any field, you have a ton of good knowledge but...chances are you only get to flex that when someone asks for it. What if you could put all of that expertise on the internet where anyone needing that information could find it? When local customers that are in a dire need for the service or product you have, they're going to do a search on YouTube for how to make this or do it themselves.
WHY TEACH PEOPLE HOW TO DO SOMETHING THEMSELVES FOR FREE? Because if you can teach someone how to do something themselves you're going to create a special connection with them that you're competitors are just never going to have. Besides, by the end of the video they're going to realize there's a ton of work involved and they can obviously save a lot of time by coming through the door and paying you for it, instead. 8
THE FIRST 4 VIDEOS YOUR LOCAL BUSINESS NEEDS ON YOUTUBE
HERO'S JOURNEY This video is going to be all about your journey from day one to where you are today. People love buying products and services but they really love buying from people they can believe in, like, trust or even relate to. This is your chance to talk about why you're so passionate about what you do and what inspired you to be the hero you are today.
THE CAUSE Create a video talking about a cause you're super passionate about and why. People love doing business with other people that are really involved with things they believe in.
TUTORIALS Chances are there are a few things you find yourself explaining over and over again. These pieces of expertise are not only obviously valuable, but they're questions people in your industry are constantly asking. When you upload these videos people are going to find them and learn from you, This creates a special bond with people in your industry that are just needing help. You're taking an opportunity to teach them something and gain their trust. This is also a good chance to talk about your flagship products and services.
Don't get on camera and talk about how much money you invest into this cause. The purpose of this video is not to brag but to actually spread awareness about something you're passionate about. This lets people know the money they spend with you is also making a big difference in the world.

Everyone trying to grow their online presence has one of two common questions, or both:
How do you feel when someone new starts sharing and reacting to your posts? Feels good right?
How do I grow my audience? How do I get more interaction? But, do you help build other audiences or engage with everyone else? The truth is no one owes you a share or reaction. People like to engage with pictures of their friends and family doing neat things; not your sales posts.
Chances are you're going to share and comment on their stuff to return the favor. Imagine adding 10 new friends not just potential clients to your audience a day and spending a few minutes everyday giving them some love on Instagram. If you want people to build you up, start by building up other people. 10
GROW YOUR AUDIENCE ON INSTAGRAM WITH THESE 4 DAILY STEPS
Search for posts in your area and leave a positive comment on every picture. Try to avoid generic stuff like "that's awesome." Be thoughtful and go make someone's day.
Does your Facebook story section look organized and professional? Although that may not seem like a big deal, it's important for every social media account you have to be extremely organized.
This is how you engage with your local audience, as a person, rather than someone trying to sell them something.
When you look organized on social media it sends a clear message about what's going on inside of your business. When you look organized on social media, so does your business.
Don't forget to give them a follow so they can begin to show up on your new feed. This is how you continue to build that relationship.
USE MICRO CONTENT Take bite-size pieces of your macro content (Vlogs and BLogs) and post those. Smaller pieces of content are way more likely to be consumed. They also draw attention to their original source. The majority of people on Instagram are just going to scroll after a few moments, so make every second count. Use highlight reels from podcast episodes and videos. Funny moments are huge for this.
BE CONSISTENT Most businesses have no idea how many customers they lose because of the 50-200 people that land on their Facebook/Instagram, per week, only to see they haven't posted in 2-4 weeks. When this happens they're getting the impression that your business isn't on top of it, and thus, isn't on top of other things in their business.
